What should I pay attention to when raising shrimp seedlings?
Precautions for raising shrimps For raising shrimps, in order to ensure good results, not only the quantity and quality of shrimps are required to fully meet the requirements of aquaculture production, but also the methods of raising shrimps should be correctly mastered because of their small size, fragile body and sensitivity to changes in environmental conditions. After shrimp seedlings were moved from the indoor nursery pond to the incubation pond, the light conditions, water temperature, salinity, water quality, and the types and quantities of bait changed greatly. In order to make shrimp seedlings adapt to the environment of hatchery as soon as possible and improve the effect of releasing them, several preventive measures should be taken as far as possible: 1. Seedlings can only be released when the natural water temperature is above 22℃. Although the cold tolerance of Penaeus vannamei is strong, it is suggested that the seedling temperature should be higher, which is beneficial to improve the survival rate of shrimp seedlings. 2. The salinity difference between the nursery pond and the culture pond should not be too big. The salinity of nursery is usually above 25, which is relatively stable. The salinity of aquaculture ponds often varies greatly, such as shrimp ponds in harbors and estuaries, which have low salinity in rainy season. Therefore, the salinity of aquaculture ponds should be measured before stocking. If the salinity difference between the nursery pond and the aquaculture pond is greater than 5, it is necessary to dilute the necessary shrimp seedlings. Try to sow in sunny weather. Seeding time should be determined according to different seasons. Generally, the temperature is low in early spring, and it is appropriate to put seedlings at noon or afternoon. The temperature and water temperature are high in summer and autumn, so it is advisable to sow in the morning or evening. 4. In a shrimp pond, it is best to put enough seedlings at one time, and the shrimp seedlings should come from the same nursery to avoid the different sizes of shrimps in the pond. 5. When buying seedlings, choose a nursery with good reputation and stable output. The quantity and quality of shrimp seedlings are guaranteed, which is beneficial to planned production and feeding management. 6. The seedlings should be placed in the deep water on the windproof side of the shrimp pond, not in the shallow water with downwind or strong wind and waves, so as to avoid the weak shrimp seedlings being blown to the beach surface on the shore and dying.
