Scope of application of meteorological proverbs

The region with moderate latitude on the earth, about 30 to 60 degrees north latitude or 30 to 60 degrees south latitude, is the main activity area of human beings. In these places, the weather changes obviously, and the same climate will not last for many years. Today is a wet sunny day, and tomorrow may be a cold thunderstorm.

Although many people in the world live in the equatorial zone, in many cases, the climate in this zone will not change significantly. For example, the Sahara desert is hot and dry all year round, while the Indian subcontinent and the western Pacific are rainy all year round, and the weather changes little during the day.

Therefore, the weather proverbs in the Chinese world are mainly applicable to areas with moderate latitudes, because the climate changes there are obvious. However, the applicability of weather proverbs may be different in different regions. For example, the sun rises in the east and the rain falls in the west, because most of China is in the westerlies. If there is a rainbow in the west, it means that it is already cloudy and rainy in the west, and it will soon move eastward and rain. If there is a rainbow in the east, it means that the cloud and rain belt has moved away and sunny days are coming.
