What are the characteristics of Hunchun City?

Hunchun, which belongs to Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, is a pearl city in Northeast Asia with "water in the city and people in the painting". Located in the lower reaches of Tumen River in the east of Jilin Province, it is the easternmost city in Jilin Province and the only border window city of China at the junction of China, Russia and North Korea. It is connected with mountains and rivers of Russia and North Korea, and faces South Korea and Japan across the sea.

Hunchun is not only the only channel for China to directly enter the Sea of Japan, but also the closest point for China to reach the east coast of Korea, the west coast of Japan, North America and Northern Europe by water. With Hunchun as the center, there are many natural ice-free ports such as Russia and North Korea around.

By the end of 20 13, Hunchun had jurisdiction over 4 streets, 4 towns, 3 townships and 2 ethnic townships, 1 Tumen River International Cooperation Demonstration Zone in China, 1 Border Economic Cooperation Zone (including export processing zone and Sino-Russian Free Trade Zone).

The name "Hunchun" originated as early as in the history of Jin Dynasty, and it also appeared in the history of Ming Dynasty, which means "frontier, frontier, border (corner) and near frontier" in Manchu later.

According to the records in Hunchun County Records and Hunchun Local Records, Hun Stupidity is the sound change of the word "lying up" in Wei and Jin Dynasties. Anything unlucky, nest cover and redundancy are the turning points of this sound. In many historical materials, "Hun Stupid" was also written as "Hun Brain Hun", "Wen Che Hate", "Hun Stupid Hun", "Fu Chu Hun" and "Xun Chun", and finally transliterated as "Hunchun". There are great changes from "crouching" to "hunben" and then to "Hunchun", but they are all caused by different transliteration words in different historical periods, and "Hunchun" is the last stable transliteration.

Hunchun City is located in the northeastern border of China, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in the lower reaches of Tumen River in the southeast of Jilin Province, at the junction of China, North Korea and Russia.
