Translation:

The weather and personnel are intertwined and changing. After the winter solstice, the days are getting longer and longer, the weather is getting warmer, and spring is coming. Embroidery women workers can embroider more colorful silk threads, and the six laws of pipe blowing have been flying. The embankment is waiting for the twelfth lunar month to pass, the willows to grow, and the mountains to break through the cold and let the plum blossoms bloom. Although I am in a foreign country, the scenery here is no different from that in my hometown, so let the children pour the wine and drink it off.

Extended information:

This poem was written by Du Fu in Kuizhou in the first year of Dali in Tang Daizong (AD 766). At that time, Du Fu's life was relatively stable and his mood was relatively comfortable.

Xiaozhi describes the seasonal changes before and after the winter solstice, which not only shows the increase of daytime with embroidery, but also shows that the willows by the river are about to turn green, and the plum blossoms on the mountain are eager to bloom, vividly describing the scene of spring in winter. The last two sentences of the poem say that he evokes memories of his hometown from the scene in front of him.

The whole poem closely revolves around the "minimal" season, narrating, describing the scenery and expressing feelings, and is full of strong life interest, cutting but not general. The author points out that "Yang Sheng Chun Lai" is closely related to the poem title of the Winter Solstice, as a general remark. The two couplets in the middle are separated, the couplets directly inherit the natural seasonal characteristics, and the necklaces directly inherit the scenery characteristics of winter and spring.

Although he is in a foreign land, the clouds and things are different, so the poet teaches his children to pour wine and drink a glass. This move is consistent with the tone of the poem that winter breeds spring atmosphere, and both reflect the poet's rare comfortable mood.
