Climate types in Japan

Japan's climate types mainly include temperate monsoon climate, alpine climate, coastal subtropical climate, inland continental climate and sub-cold zone humid climate.

I temperate monsoon climate

Mainly distributed in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and other cities, with four distinct seasons, hot and humid summer, cold and snowy winter and mild and pleasant spring and autumn. The temperature and rainfall vary greatly. Sometimes it is affected by the cold wave from Siberia in winter and the tropical airflow from the Pacific Ocean in summer. The temperature is high and the rainfall is heavy.

Second, the alpine climate.

Mainly distributed in Hokkaido, Takayama and other places in Japan, due to high altitude, low temperature, pleasant summer, cold winter and heavy snowfall. The climate is characterized by the decrease of temperature with the increase of altitude and more annual precipitation.

Three. Subtropical climate in coastal areas

Mainly distributed in Fukuoka, Nagasaki and other places, it is relatively warm in winter, hot and rainy in summer, and the temperature and rainfall are slightly higher than those in inland areas. Affected by the Pacific warm current, the role of the ocean is more obvious than that of the inland areas.

Four. Continental climate in inland areas

Mainly distributed in the north-central and northeastern parts of Honshu, Japan, including Sendai, Aomori and other cities. This climate is characterized by four distinct seasons, relatively short summers, long and cold winters and relatively even precipitation. Because it is far away from the sea and there is no ocean regulation, the temperature and precipitation are very different.

Verb (abbreviation for verb) humid climate in sub-frigid zone

Mainly distributed in northern Hokkaido and other places, it is cold and snowy in winter, short and cool in summer, with low temperature and heavy rainfall. This climate type mainly appears in the northern part of Hokkaido, Japan.
