There is a Wangjing in Beijing. How did this name come from? Come on, everybody, 3Q.

The name "Wangjing" has a long history, and some people say it comes from Wangjing Wharf. Wangjing Pier was built in the first year of Jingtai in Ming Dynasty (1450). At that time, the Ming Dynasty was in the era of war, with the constant invasion of the Wara Department of Mongolia in the north and frequent wars. In order to strengthen the city defense of Beijing, Yu Qian, a minister of the Ministry of War, built a number of docks around the capital to monitor the enemy's situation after meeting the emperor and obtaining permission. "The pier is three feet high and twelve feet wide." It is heavily guarded day and night. Among them, in the northeast of Beijing, there is a tower that is said to stand on a high platform when the weather is fine and you can see Dongzhimen, so it is also called Wangjingdun. After the demise of the Ming Dynasty, Wangjing Wharf was gradually abandoned. Before the Ming Dynasty, there was a small village near Wangjingdun, which gradually expanded into two villages at the end of the Ming Dynasty. The northern village was larger and called "Big Wangjing", while the southern village was smaller and called "Little Wangjing". Since then, the name of "Wangjing" has lasted for hundreds of years. There is also a saying that the word "Wangjing" was given by Emperor Qianlong. According to legend, Emperor Qianlong passed by here when he went to chengde mountain resort. It was hot at that time, so he went to a tea stall on a high slope by the road to drink tea. When he stood on the high slope and looked southwest, he vaguely saw a tower and asked the accompanying eunuch what city it was. The eunuch looked at it and said it was the tower of Dongzhimen. Emperor Qianlong was very happy to hear this. He didn't expect this place to be seen so far away from the capital, which shows that the tower of the capital is high, so he named this place "Wangjing" impromptu, and the nearby villages were called "Wangjing" from now on.
