What's the climate like in Lanzhou? Why is it windy almost every afternoon?

Lanzhou lives in the northwest inland, and the warm and humid air currents in the ocean are not easy to reach, so there is little chance of rain. The climate in most areas is dry and belongs to temperate monsoon climate, which is continental.

The winter in Lanzhou is cold and long, the boundary between spring and summer is unclear, the summer is short, the temperature is high, and the temperature drops quickly in autumn. The annual average temperature in the whole province is between 0 ~ 16℃, and the ecological environment is complex and diverse. The landforms are complex and diverse, including mountains, plateaus, Pingchuan, river valleys, deserts and Gobi, with complete types and staggered distribution, and the terrain inclines from southwest to northeast. The Yellow River flows from southwest to northeast, across the whole territory and across mountains, forming a beaded valley with alternating valleys and basins.
