What kind of phenomenon is storm surge?

Storm surge is an abnormal fluctuation of sea surface caused by strong weather systems such as typhoon, temperate cyclone, cold front and strong wind, and sudden pressure change, also known as storm surge or meteorological tsunami. Storm surge is a gravity long wave with a period ranging from several hours to several days, between earthquake and tsunami and low-frequency ocean tides, with an amplitude of several meters and a maximum of two or three kilometers. It is a natural disaster in coastal areas, and the accompanying storms and waves will cause more disasters. Storm surges are usually divided into temperate storm surges caused by temperate cyclones and tropical storm tides caused by tropical storms.
