Why is it easy to get nosebleeds when the weather is hot?

Hello. Nosebleeds are also one of the common clinical symptoms, and there are many reasons. Generally speaking, unilateral epistaxis is mostly caused by local causes of the nose, while bilateral simultaneous epistaxis is mostly caused by systemic diseases. The bleeding in the front of nose is mostly caused by children and young people, often caused by trauma, rhinitis and vitamin deficiency, while the bleeding in the back of nose is mostly caused by diseases such as hypertension and arteriosclerosis. In addition, climate change, emotional excitement, fatigue, sneezing and even blowing your nose may be the causes of nosebleeds.

The causes of epistaxis can be summarized as local causes and systemic causes.

First, local reasons:

(1) nose trauma, or nose dug too deep or too heavy.

② The nasal septum is curved or has crista and talus process. Because the local mucosa is thin, it is easy to bleed after being stimulated by air.

③ Patients with acute rhinitis and atrophic rhinitis are prone to bleeding.

④ A few cases are bleeding caused by nasal cavity, sinus or nasopharyngeal tumor, such as hemangioma and malignant tumor.

2. Systematic reasons:

① The arterial pressure is too high,

② Increased venous pressure.

③ Suffering from acute febrile infectious diseases.

④ Hematological diseases, such as leukemia, hemophilia and various purpura.

⑤ Liver and spleen diseases and rheumatism.

Because the causes of epistaxis are complicated and the diseases in otorhinolaryngology are very intuitive, it is recommended that you go to the hospital for detailed examination and diagnosis before treatment if you often have bilateral nostril bleeding. If it is only occasional bleeding, it doesn't matter. It may be related to dry climate or slight nasal inflammation.

The following is the temporary treatment of nosebleeds, which I hope will be helpful to the landlord:

1. Before stopping bleeding, the blood clot should be scooped out to avoid stopping bleeding because the wound cannot be closed.

2. Pinch some nose meat with your fingers and keep pressing for five to seven minutes to help stop bleeding.

3. Ice compress can promote vasoconstriction and reduce bleeding.

4. After blood coagulation, blood clots will scab. At this time, it is best not to pick your nostrils, so as not to desquamate and scab and cause nosebleeds to recur.

5. If the left (right) nostril bleeds, lift the right (left) arm to stop bleeding after a few minutes.

6. Push the nasal alar on the bleeding side to the bridge of the nose, and keep it for 5 ~ 10 minutes to coagulate the blood in it, thus stopping bleeding. If both sides are bleeding, hold both sides of your nose. After the nosebleed stopped, there were many blood clots in the nostrils. Don't take it out in a hurry Try to avoid sneezing and rubbing hard to prevent bleeding again.

7. When the patient's left (right) nostril bleeds, another person hooks the finger root of the patient's right (left) hand with his middle finger and bends it hard, which usually takes tens of seconds to stop bleeding; Or tie the root of the patient's middle finger with a cloth, and tie the finger of the right hand with the bleeding place of the left (right) nostril. After the nosebleed stops, untie the cloth.

8. Take a proper amount of garlic, peel it and mash it into garlic paste, apply it on your feet, and wrap it with gauze to stop bleeding quickly.

9. Let the patient sit in a chair and soak his feet with hot water to stop bleeding.

Chinese medicine believes that "spleen" has the function of regulating blood, and "qi" has the function of sucking blood. If the spleen and stomach function normally, blood can flow normally in the blood vessels, but not outside the pulse. If the spleen and stomach are weak, it is easy to bleed. Another important cause of bleeding is blood heat. Whether it is deficiency heat or excess heat, it will force blood to run to a certain extent, making blood flow out of blood vessels and bleeding. Therefore, the cause of nosebleed is nothing more than spleen deficiency and blood heat. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment of epistaxis mainly starts from two aspects: invigorating spleen, replenishing qi and enriching blood, and clearing heat, cooling blood and stopping bleeding. Such as systemic malnutrition, vitamin deficiency, coagulation dysfunction and some people who are often prone to nosebleeds and accompanied by unexplained qi deficiency symptoms, can be treated by strengthening the spleen, replenishing qi and enriching blood. Infectious epistaxis with high fever belongs to heat evil entering the blood. Nosebleeds in patients with hypertension are often caused by deficiency of kidney yin, hyperactivity of liver fire, and other nosebleeds with fever symptoms. Treatment begins with clearing away heat, cooling blood and stopping bleeding. When epistaxis occurs, external treatment should be used to stop bleeding first, and then treatment should be based on spleen-qi deficiency or blood-heat syndrome differentiation.
