The sweat glands of human body are apocrine glands and eccrine glands.
Dr. Qiu Zuman explained that there are apocrine glands and apocrine glands in the human body, which are distributed all over the body, especially in the palm, face and soles of the feet. The duct of this gland is independently opened on the skin surface, and its composition is 99% water, which is weakly acidic and helps to regulate body temperature mainly through perspiration. However, the bacteria on the skin surface will form a sweat smell after the action; Apocrine glands (also known as apocrine glands) are mainly distributed in armpits, * * and * *, and their ducts open in hair follicles. Sweat contains protein and fatty acids, which is weakly alkaline. After being affected by bacteria on the skin surface, it will produce a unique smell (pheromone) to attract the opposite sex, but if it smells bad, it will produce body odor.
Sweating in eccrine glands is the body's reaction to heat, and emotions can also affect sweating; Apocrine glands are controlled by gonads and nerves and begin to secrete after puberty. When they are emotional, they also secrete sweat glands. For sweaty people, it will be embarrassing to wear it in social situations. If the sweat glands are exuberant and the body odor is caused by bacteria, it will be really embarrassing!
Among the five items approved by the Ministry of Health, four common aluminum salt antiperspirant deodorants can stop sweating.
In the face of hyperhidrosis, many people will use antiperspirants, most commonly aluminum salts, to stop sweating by forming a gel at the top of sweat pores. It doesn't take effect immediately after application, it takes 6 to 8 hours. At present, the Ministry of Health and Welfare has approved five antiperspirants and deodorants for cosmetics with specific uses, of which four antiperspirants are all aluminum salts, as shown in the following table:
When applying aluminum salt, it should be noted that when people sleep, sweat gland secretion will be reduced and kept dry. Before going to bed, it is the best time to use it. However, the skin on the application site must be completely dry. If the skin is slightly moist, it may produce weak acidity, making the skin itchy or dry and rough.
After a night's action, aluminum salt will form a gel-like substance at the top of the sweat hole, so it will not sweat during the day. In the morning, you can use a wet towel to wipe it on the use part to reduce the residue of antiperspirant and dermatitis, and you don't need to wear makeup after going out to sweat during the day. If you use it repeatedly every night, the effect will be obvious after one week, and the frequency of use can be reduced. Usually you can use it once a week to stop sweating, but it will gradually recover after stopping using it. People with allergies, skin allergies, folliculitis or underarm wounds should not use it to avoid dermatitis.
Deodorant mainly lowers the pH value of the skin, thus inhibiting bacteria and reducing sweat and body odor.
Deodorant changes the chemical properties of skin and prevents armpit odor. Many deodorants can lower the pH value of the skin, turn the skin environment into a weak acid that is unfavorable to bacteria, and prevent the reproduction of some microorganisms. Or contain antibacterial ingredients to inhibit the flora on the skin surface, so that it can not be fermented to produce odor, thereby reducing sweat and body odor.
It is worth noting that some deodorants contain perfume or body odor. The body odor is modified by adding other fragrances through the main effective components of the deodorant, which is suitable for washing before going out or after exercise and when the skin is dry.
Finally, remind consumers that antiperspirant deodorant can only inhibit sweating or reduce body odor. If you sweat a lot or smell badly, you should seek medical advice. (Photo courtesy: Healthy Planet)
