Writing an essay, a 400-word guide to Sanping Temple in Pinghe County

On the morning of the third day of the first lunar month, the weather was exceptionally sunny. My parents, my fat aunt, and I went to the peaceful Sanping Temple to offer incense and enjoy the beautiful scenery there.

Sanping Temple is a famous thousand-year-old temple in southern Fujian. It is located in the mountains surrounded by beautiful mountains and rivers, lush forests and beautiful scenery. It is a good place for people to visit and escape the summer heat. I heard that Sanping Temple was even more crowded on New Year’s Eve. There are young religious men and women, as well as old people in their seventies. They come here in groups to celebrate New Year's Eve, making the place even more prosperous and lively, and indeed a unique scene.

On the way, we were surrounded by mountains and lush trees. We talked and laughed in the car, and our faces were all filled with happiness, and laughter kept coming from the car. Looking out the car window, ah, the clouds and mist are lingering in the mountains, as if immortals live there. The road in the mountains was winding and winding, rising and falling. Before we knew it, we had arrived at Sanping Temple.

The gate of Sanping Temple is tall and majestic, with extraordinary momentum. It makes people feel majestic when they look at it. When they look inside, ah! Sanping Temple is crowded with people, and there is an endless stream of people offering incense here. The door has already been surrounded by people, "Pa, Pa, Pa Pa!" Before we reached the main hall, the sound of firecrackers started one after another. We finally "squeezed" into the main hall, which was filled with smoke. Everyone held the incense sticks high for fear of scalding others. The smoke choked me and made me drop my "golden beans". ah! There are so many people worshiping incense at Sanping Temple! Everyone takes advantage of the good day of the New Year to pay homage to the founder of Sanping Temple and pray for good weather and safety for their families in the year!

Does everyone know? There is another interesting legend about the founder of Sanping Temple!

The founder’s official name is Yang Yizhong. He was born on the sixth day of the first lunar month in Fuqing County, Fujian Province. He has lived with his father in Fujian since he was born. He has been very smart since he was a child, diligent and studious, and has a photographic memory of poetry and prose. When he grew up, he led the monks and nuns on an arduous hike, climbing mountains and wading in order to avoid the Tang Dynasty Li Yan's trend of "abolition of Buddhas and elimination of monks", and came to Pinghe Nine-layer Rock to take refuge. Seeing that the green mountains, green waters and beautiful scenery here were a good place for preaching, so Sanping Temple was built here. He not only helped local villagers with medical treatment, but also taught them farming to increase productivity, which greatly improved the lives of the villagers. Later, after his death, the local villagers, in order to express their gratitude for his merits, honored him as "The Patriarch of Sanping Temple" and carved a statue of him for future generations to admire. Looking at the statue of the Patriarch sitting in the center of the hall, I followed the example of adults and worshiped devoutly. Suddenly, I thought of the people who were affected by the disaster in Sichuan not long ago. I hope the Patriarch of Sanping Temple will bless them to rebuild a beautiful home as soon as possible.

When I came out, I saw that there were still a lot of people, and many people were washing their hands and faces by the tiger spring.

So, we also walked over and came to the foot of Tiger Spring. We washed our hands and drank the sweet spring water. Not to mention how sweet and happy we were!

On the way home, I thought to myself: I must study hard and be a person who contributes to society in the future
