As of September 22, meteorological drought occurred in 72.4% of Hunan Province, and the drought in Xinshao lasted for 45 days. It is expected that tomorrow (September 24 -25, 2022), due to the supplement of cold air, it will be rainy in northern Hunan, but the day after tomorrow, it will be controlled by subtropical high, and most areas will turn cloudy and the rainfall will stop.

In recent 1 month, the precipitation in Hunan is obviously less than normal, and the meteorological drought continues. According to the statistics of Hunan Meteorological Observatory, as of September 22nd, all the 22 counties and cities in Hunan Province have reached the level above moderate drought, and 1 15 counties and cities have reached the level above severe drought, accounting for 99.7% of the total area of the province, including Cili, Xinshao, Lianyuan, Longshan, Huarong, Jingzhou, Jishou. Seven counties and cities, including Xinshao, Cili, Baojing, Jishou, Huitong, Guiyang and Lianyuan, experienced severe drought for more than 30 consecutive days, of which Xinshao lasted for 45 days.

The Hunan Meteorological Observatory predicts that it will be rainy in northern Hunan and cloudy in other areas due to the supplement of cold air to the south today and tomorrow, but it will be controlled by subtropical high the day after tomorrow, and most areas will turn cloudy, and the weather will be dry or continue to develop.

Specifically, there are light rains on cloudy days in northern Xiangxi, Zhangjiajie, Changde, northern Yiyang and northern Yueyang, and other areas are cloudy today; Maximum temperature: 28 ~ 30℃ in southern Hunan, 24 ~ 26℃ in northwest Hunan and 26 ~ 28℃ in other areas; Minimum temperature: southern Hunan 18 ~ 20℃, other areas 16 ~ 18℃.

Tomorrow, there will be light rain on cloudy days in Xiangxi, Zhangjiajie, Changde, Yiyang, Yueyang and Huaihua, and other areas will be cloudy; Maximum temperature: 29 ~ 3 1℃ in southern Hunan, 25 ~ 27℃ in northwestern Hunan and 27 ~ 29℃ in other areas; The lowest temperature is 18 ~ 20℃.

Meteorologists reminded that due to the continuous meteorological drought, the meteorological grade of forest fire danger in most areas of central and southern Hunan is high, and relevant departments and the public should pay attention to strengthening forest fire prevention and extinguishing work such as outdoor fire source control and fire point monitoring. At the same time, under the condition of ensuring safety, strengthen the organization to carry out artificial precipitation enhancement operations, and do a good job in drought relief and disaster reduction such as water saving and scientific water use.
