After the accident, Shanghai Vice Mayor Shen Jun and others rushed to the scene to command and deploy, and public security, emergency and other departments quickly dispatched rescue efforts. Currently, the specific cause of the accident is still under investigation.
The cause of the accident may be related to heavy rain
According to information from the Shanghai Meteorological Observatory, on the day of the accident, heavy to heavy rain fell in the Shanghai expressway traffic accident area. Starting from 16:00 yesterday, heavy rain fell in Fengxian, Jinshan and other places in Shanghai. As of 21:30, the rainfall at Touqiao, Liaoyuan and Fourth Tuan monitoring stations in Fengxian District all exceeded 100 millimeters, reaching the level of heavy rain, making it the area with the highest rainfall in Shanghai.
Due to heavy rain, the road was slippery. On the Shanghai Xinfengjin Expressway, 52 kilometers away from the city of Shanghai, a truck heading from the city of Shanghai to Jinshan District broke through the middle barrier of the road and hit a car on the opposite side. A van was involved in a rear-end collision, resulting in a five-vehicle collision.
Be cautious when traveling in rainy and snowy weather
Since early yesterday morning, a heavy snowstorm has fallen in Beijing. This morning, there was heavy snow outside, and the heavy snow blocked the roads for people to travel.
