The history of Zouzhuang

Zouzhuang has a long history and experienced many vicissitudes. According to the cultural relics unearthed in Huangbuling, Hongquan Village, Root Zone, the arsenals and ancient battlefields of the Tang Dynasty are located in Zouzhuang. After the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it gradually became the political, economic and cultural center of Pizhou, known as the North Gate of Pizhou. The people of Zouzhuang have a glorious revolutionary tradition, and War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's first shot was fired on this hot land. During War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, the people in the old liberated areas rose from wave to wave, making people cry. 140 martyrs died for their country and were buried here.

The old revolutionary base areas have outstanding people and outstanding achievements. Zouzhuang has a long history. There are still some ambiguities in the existing sites such as Huangbuling ancient battlefield and Tang Arsenal. The huge ivory antiquities and antler fossils collected by the Municipal Museum were unearthed at the foot of Luyou Mountain. Zouzhuang has a glorious revolutionary tradition. The first shot of the northern anti-Japanese bonfire ―― the battle of Ji Hu started from here. During War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, 138 martyrs were buried in this hot land.
