Historical legend of tailless Lao Li
The legend of "old Li with bald tail" is the product of people being played by dragons, that is, people crossing with dragons.
In Hainan Island and the Pearl River Basin, there is also a legend of "digging the tail of the dragon and Lao Li". Longmu's surname is Wen, and Wuming River in Guangxi was called "Wenshui" in ancient times. It can be inferred that she grew up in the Dong area of Luoyue zhuang. The transliteration of the word "Li" is the name of "snake" in Zhuang language.
There is also a legend that a peasant woman in Wendeng, Shandong, fell asleep because she was sleepy, and later gave birth to a monster, a little black dragon. When the little black dragon landed, he could still walk in the clouds without a trace, but since then, the pool has become particularly moving. More strangely, the direction of water flow in the morning and afternoon is different. The water flows from south to north in the morning and from north to south in the afternoon, and the water level in the bay is basically unaffected by rain, which has been the case since ancient times. After a long time, I found there seemed to be a black dragon in the bay. At first, people were very scared. Later, it was found that the dragon never harassed the villagers, but lived in the inlet, living in peace with the people and no longer being afraid. But the little black dragon goes back to nurse his mother every day and loves her very much. The farmer's husband, surnamed Li, was very angry about it. One day, when the little black dragon came to nurse, he waved a kitchen knife at the little black dragon. The little black dragon couldn't dodge, its tail was cut off, and it fled painfully to Heilongjiang in Northeast China.
Legend has it that there used to be a white dragon guardian in Heilongjiang, named Bailong River. White dragons make waves, maim the people, and make people panic all day long. Suddenly one day, there was lightning and thunder over Meixi, and dark clouds were gathering, and a black dragon rose from the bay. In a flash, the thunder stopped, the rain stopped and the weather was fine. Then a black dragon appeared in the waters where the white dragon haunted. The two dragons saw it and killed each other in one place until dark. The local people hate the little white dragon, and most of the local Shandong people "go east". People gathered by the river to watch the battle between the two dragons. When the black dragon came up, it threw steamed buns, and when the white dragon came up, it threw stones. After three days and nights of fighting, the black dragon finally defeated the white dragon, hence the name of Heilongjiang. Later, the black dragon was called by fate and took charge of Heilongjiang. It is said that during the reign of Bailong, the soil was white clay or yellow sand. After the arrival of the Black Dragon, in order to repay the local people and benefit their hometown, they all turned into black soil and fertile black land, and turned the "Great Northern Wilderness" into "Great Northern Warehouse".
Little black dragon is attached to his mother and hometown. Every year when it doesn't rain in Shandong, he always tries his best to send clouds and rain to his hometown, but sometimes he comes in a hurry and brings ice from Heilongjiang, that is, when it rains, it hails. Whenever it hails, people will think of when the little black dragon was cut by a kitchen knife, so they throw a kitchen knife to scare the little black dragon. Of course, in most cases, the little black dragon brings timely rain that people like. Therefore, temples have been built all over Shandong to commemorate "Old Li with Bald Tail". The oldest existing Longwang Temple in Longshan, the east of jimo city, has a puddle with a diameter of about one meter, in which the clear water ripples to the bottom of the valley, which is amazing. It is said that it is the residence of Lao Li with bald tail. In the past, when there was no rain during the drought, people came here to ask for rain, which is said to be quite effective. Up to now, the temple still preserves the keepsakes for rain in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Invisible, the little black dragon played the role of river god and rain god. Because he was born in the Li family, people respectfully called him "Lao Li with a bald tail". Lao Li, with a bald tail, is a dutiful son. There is a folk saying that "the dragon never leaves his mother", so there is often a "dragon mother grave" near Longwang Temple. Because many people come to pray, "Dragon King Temple Fair" or "Dragon Mother Temple Fair" has sprung up in many places. Hometown complex is always difficult to give up, so people return to their birthplace in their spare time. People call that king water "Huilongwan".
Huilongwan, a famous scenic spot in Yichun City, crossed the "First Crossing of Tangwang River" and arrived at the villa archway. Walking along Shibanyong Road, you can see the legendary "Black Dragon Sky" sculpture, which is lifelike and heroic. The black dragon is flying high in Xiangyun with a spirit ball in one hand. It looks like it was ordered to go into battle and fell from the sky.
In addition to the above, there are many folk customs about "Lao Li with a bald tail": for example, it is said that the sixth day of the sixth lunar month is the birthday of "Lao Li with a bald tail", and on this day, his family will take out his dragon tail left at home to bask in the sun. There is also a proverb called "June 6th, it will be sunny and rainy for forty days", which means what weather will last for forty days. Later, it evolved into a folk clothes drying day. It is said that it is auspicious to wear clothes on this day. In addition, women in some places put on leggings and dare not enjoy the cool outdoors in summer, even dare not take a nap, for fear of being beaten by dragons and so on.
Legend has it that my hometown is Zhuangyan Village, Magezhuang Town, pingdu city, Qingdao. Every year in this village, there is a folk activity to commemorate Lao Li on April 17 of the lunar calendar. Four years and three years
Second, 20 10 is the largest in the last four years.
The story about Lao Li with bald tail is widely circulated in all parts of Shandong. People think that Lao Li with bald tail's home is in Shandong. This phenomenon is worth pondering.
Although there are some differences in the details of the story of bald-tailed Lao Li circulating around the country, the main plot is actually the same: a family lives in a certain area of a village (where tornadoes often occur in summer) (with different surnames, but most of the stories circulated are Li), and his wife has been infertile for many years after marriage (there are also various reasons for pregnancy, some say that she ate plums or peaches, and some say that she was "played" by a dragon when she went to fetch water by the river). Others say it was touched by an old man with a white beard in front of their house-in fact, it was the dragon king), and then a monster was born (some said it was a meat egg, and after it was cut, it was a dragon, and some said it was a dragon), like a giant snake, dark in color, with scales and horns. Every time they feed, their bodies are coiled on the beams, scaring their mothers to death. When his father saw it, he thought it was a monster, so he grabbed a knife (or an axe) and cut him. As a result, he cut off his tail and became a bald-tailed dragon.
Dragons grow up, sometimes they become people, and sometimes they become dragons. When you become a human, you have to carry the work for the landlord, which is extremely powerful and has an amazing appetite. You can take on jobs that ordinary people can't do at all, and besides, you are honest. Then I went to the northeast. There is a local Bailong River, where a white dragon lives. This dragon has a bad character and often makes waves for no reason, which leads to the flooding of rivers, flooding farmland, destroying crops, washing down houses and drowning countless people. The bald-tailed dragon couldn't stand it, and decided to kill someone and get rid of the white dragon. He knew in advance that it would be a fierce battle, so he turned into a human form (some people say it was a dream) and went to the river for help. He told people to prepare steamed buns and stones (some people say lime) and go to the river at a certain time on a certain day of the month. When the white waves turned up, they threw stones (lime) into it, and when the black waves turned up, they threw steamed buns into it. Because the bald-tailed dragon is practical and easy-going on weekdays and often helps others, people affectionately call him "Lao Li", so people sincerely help him. He finally killed the white dragon with the help of people and was approved by the jade emperor to control the river. From then on, the river became Heilongjiang, and he was the dragon king of Heilongjiang.
It is said that Lao Li with bald tail sweated a lot during the White Dragon War. He was a black dragon, so he sweated black. The black river water infiltrated into the land on both sides of the river, and the land turned black, which was particularly fertile, and good crops could be planted without any fertilizer. In addition, Lao Li, who has a bald tail, is very friendly to fellow villagers in Shandong. When Shandong people punt on the Heilongjiang River, the fish in the river will automatically jump on the boat, which is a gift from Lao Li with a bald tail to his fellow villagers. It is said that as long as there are Shandong people on the ship sailing in Heilongjiang, it will not capsize, so every time before sailing, the boatman will ask "Are there any Shandong people?" If there are, the passengers will answer "Yes", because the kind-hearted bald-tailed Lao Li doesn't ask if he is really a fellow villager, and he will take care of him as long as he hears that there are fellow villagers. Lao Li with a bald tail is still a dutiful son. Every summer, he goes back to his hometown in Shandong to visit his mother's grave. Because he is walking in the clouds, carrying wind and rain, everywhere he goes, it is bound to be stormy and often mixed with hail, so every time he returns to Shandong, he brings great or small disasters to his hometown.
The myth of bald-tailed Lao Li has rich folk significance. According to folklore, Lao Li with bald tail is actually a god created by Shandong people themselves. We can see that the character of Lao Li with bald tail obviously has the characteristics of Shandong people: honest and conscientious, but he likes to fight against injustice and can't rub sand in his eyes. The original function of this myth mainly tries to explain two questions: why there are tornadoes; Why is the water in Heilongjiang black? Of course, modern people with a little scientific knowledge know that this explanation is wrong. But folk customs can't be judged by right or wrong. It seems that the hardships and bitterness of our ancestors exploring the world are more worthy of our experience.
