What are the remedial measures for floor burst?

1. Scratches and cracks on the floor

Phenomenon: there are tiny cracks on the wooden floor, which will seriously cause paint peeling.

Reason: the quality of the wooden floor itself is not enough. Due to climate change, the moisture content of wood floor is too high or too low, resulting in dry shrinkage or wet expansion, leading to paint surface cracking. Or it is because of long-term wind and sun exposure, resulting in drying shrinkage.

Precautionary measures: Choose a wood floor with good quality, and its paint film adhesion, elasticity and wear resistance can be guaranteed.

Solution: A small amount of paint film cracks, which can be repaired by touch-up. If the area is too large, it can only be replaced. The wooden floor is easy to disassemble, and the cracked part can be disassembled for local renovation. The air in autumn is relatively dry. At this time, after the repair, the water actually continues to volatilize, so it is still possible to crack again. Therefore, the serious cracking problem of the floor in autumn can be eased a little, and there is no need to rush to repair it.

2. Expansion and arching

Phenomenon: The wooden floor is partially arched upward, or partially arched upward.

Reason: The wooden floor absorbs water and expands after soaking in water. The moisture content of foundation concrete is too high, and the moisture-proof isolation layer is not sealed to absorb moisture and expand.

It may be because the weather is too wet and cold, and the floor is taken to remove moisture, which causes the moisture in the air to be absorbed by the wooden floor and expand. The paving area of wooden floor is large or wide, and no subsection measures have been taken.

Note: Don't choose oversized wooden floor to prevent arching. Frequently open windows for ventilation, and reserve structural expansion joints, sectional joints and adjust expansion joints between adjacent plates according to regulations.

Solution: bulging can't be repaired, so it can only be replaced. After the moisture content of the wood floor is balanced with the relative humidity in the air, it can be removed and repaved according to the situation, and the segmented joints and reserved expansion joints of adjacent blocks can be adjusted.

3. There is a big joint.

Phenomenon: after installation for a period of time, the tenon and groove of the wooden floor appear separation phenomenon.

Cause: The continuous high temperature and dry climate leads to excessive dehumidification and drying shrinkage of the wood floor. When paving in wet weather, the gap between adjacent plates is too large, and in dry weather, it will shrink even more.

Precautionary measures: select wood flooring materials with good stability, control moisture content, and meet local requirements for balanced moisture content; Calculate and master the climatic conditions during construction between expansion joints of adjacent wooden floors, and leave gaps or gaps appropriately; To prevent the sun, it is not advisable to close the doors and windows for a long time without ventilation or local blowing.

Solution: If the shrinkage is less than 2MM, no maintenance is needed, but if the area is too large and the size is too wide, it needs to be remedied. Obviously, the cost of total replacement is too high, so sealant can only be used to fill the gap. Clean up the sundries in the gap with a brush and wipe them with a wet rag to keep all surfaces of the gap dry and dust-free. Then apply sealant and smooth the periphery.

Wood floor maintenance

Sun protection: reduce direct sunlight in summer to avoid paint cracking and aging in advance due to excessive ultraviolet radiation.

Anti-baking: Don't bake with electric stove for a long time in winter to avoid drying too fast and cracking the floor.

Scratch-proof: avoid being scratched by sharp objects and being weighed by heavy objects for a long time.

Dust-proof: Insoles can be placed outside the door to avoid bringing sand or abrasive dust indoors.

Waxing: the solid wood floor should be maintained during the intermission, and solid wax should be used.

Ventilation: ventilation should be strengthened in rainy season to avoid floor deformation caused by excessive indoor humidity.

Humidification: Always wipe with a wet mop in autumn and winter to increase the surface humidity.

Cleaning: Clean properly, keep the floor dry and clean, and don't mop the floor with dripping mop.
