Why is Suzhou PM2.5 so high?

Smoke billowing from factories is rare in Suzhou, and the serious air pollution in Suzhou is probably due to the following reasons:

Automobile exhaust. In recent years, the number of cars in Suzhou has soared, and it has become the largest city in Jiangsu.

Dust on the construction site. In recent years, Suzhou has carried out a series of road network reconstruction, central area construction, subway construction and real estate projects. How many of those construction sites have protective measures? There are dug roads everywhere, and cars pass by, and the wind will bring a lot of dust.

The polluted atmosphere around is spread. There is a very interesting data: on windless days, there is smog in North China and Shandong, and there is a little smog in Suzhou. However, as soon as the cold air went south, the air in Beijing and North China improved rapidly, and Shandong also improved, but the pollution in northern Jiangsu became more serious, and the smog in Suzhou also increased. Only after cold air passes through the border for a period of time will the air in Jiangsu improve from north to south. At present, there are smog all over the country, and even if a single area itself does not produce too much pollution, it is difficult to be immune. Therefore, it is necessary to plan and control smog nationwide.

Industrial waste gas produced by Suzhou heavy industry belt along the Yangtze River. However, because industrial waste gas is generally high in chimneys, it contributes little to the pollution near the ground. Moreover, because of environmental protection in recent years, industrial waste gas generally has little contribution to the smog weather in Suzhou.
