Why is Guangyuan called Lizhou?
The name of Lizhou originated from Wei Chijiong, a general of the Western Wei Dynasty, who attacked Xiyizhou and Xike Chengdu, and named it Lizhou, which means "smooth".
Guangyuan was originally a state of fame and fortune, and its new name was born in Yuan Dynasty. The "yuan" in the name is taken from the Yuan Dynasty. In A.D. 1277, Yuan Shizu fought in Sichuan and suddenly wanted to express his lofty aspirations. So he changed Lizhou to Guangyuan in a fiery mood, in order to "open the way for me", that is, he hoped that Dewei would spread in the Yuan Dynasty, with a vast territory, and the name of Guangyuan has been passed down to this day.
