Qiaojia historical meteorology

Why can't I talk after drinking dumb spring water? Dumb water is actually a kind of spring water containing copper salt, that is, an aqueous solution of copper sulfate (bile alum), which is called bile water. Drinking this bile will make people feel sick, vomit, diarrhea and slurred speech until they collapse and spasm and die. The simple detoxification method is to mix a large amount of lime water and react with it to produce insoluble copper hydroxide and calcium sulfate precipitate. The Anle Spring here, that is, alkaline water, can make copper salt form water-insoluble precipitate.
