How to get to Jiuzhaigou Valley

Relatively speaking, self-driving is definitely the most convenient. Planes are the fastest, but more expensive. Long-distance buses are the choice for most people, but they take longer, so it’s a matter of personal choice.

1. Bus

Most people will choose to take a long-distance bus from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou. The distance is 438kn and the journey takes about 10 hours. The bus terminal to Jiuzhaigou is at Jiuzhaigou Passenger Transport Center (departing from Xinnanmen Station), about 1km away from the scenic area.

The other terminal is Jiuzhaigou County Passenger Station, about 20km away from Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area. The bus from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou, whose terminal is Jiuzhaigou County, will pass through Jiuzhaigou. Tourists only need to tell the bus driver where they want to get off.

2. Airplane

Currently, the most convenient way to visit Jiuzhaigou is to fly to Chengdu or Chongqing, and then transfer to Jiuzhaigou-Huanglong Airport (Jiuhuang Airport). There are many flights from Chengdu Shuangliu Airport to Jiuhuang Airport. There are nearly 20 flights every day, and the flight time is about 40 minutes.

There are few flights from Chongqing Jiangbei Airport to Jiuhuang Airport. There are only a few flights every day and the flight time is about 1 hour. In addition, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Xi'an also have direct flights to Huanglong every day.

3. Self-driving

The important land transportation in Jiuzhaigou is the East-West Ninth Ring Road, with a total length of about 920km. The western route of the Ninth Ring Road starts from Chengdu, passes through Dujiangyan, Wenchuan, Maoxian, Songpan and ends at Jiuzhaigou Valley, with a total distance of approximately 440km; the eastern route of the Ninth Ring Road starts from Chengdu, passes through Mianyang, Jiangyou, Pingwu and Jiuzhaigou County to Jiuzhaigou, with a total distance of approximately 480km.

In addition, the highway from Lanzhou City in Gansu Province to Jiuzhaigou via Linxia, ??Hehe, Luqu, Ruoergai, Chuanzhusi is also a self-driving and car travel route that has become popular among tourists in recent years, with a total length of 711km.

Things to note when traveling to Jiuzhaigou

1. Weather: There is a large temperature difference between day and night in the scenic area, the weather is changeable, and the ultraviolet rays are strong. You need to prepare cold-proof clothing, rain gear, sunscreen, etc., but don’t carry too much baggage. Heavy.

2. Safety: When traveling in scenic spots, we remind all tourists and friends that they are not allowed to camp in the scenic spots, nor stay in houses in the ditches, nor walk alone into the mountains. When visiting scenic spots, tourists must remember not to climb trees or rocks, or browse or take photos on the edge of the sea without guardrails. They must protect their own safety.

3. Touring: Please do not play in the water, catch fish, feed fish, climb and pick flowers, catch wild animals, litter, etc.
