What season is hail?

Hail mainly appears in summer, especially in thunderstorm weather.

Because of the high temperature in summer, the hot air on the ground will rise into the atmosphere, and when it meets the cold air at high altitude, it will produce convective motion. This convective movement causes water droplets to be carried to the top of the cloud and form ice there. When these ice cubes are big enough and heavy enough, they will fall from the top of the clouds and form the hail we see.

Hail is a form of precipitation, which is formed by water droplets in the clouds in the sky meeting cold air to form ice. Hailstones are usually spherical or oval, ranging in diameter from several millimeters to several centimeters, and sometimes even reaching the size of persimmons.

Although hail generally only occurs in summer, there are some special circumstances that may occur in other seasons. For example, in spring and autumn, if there is a strong thunderstorm, it may also produce hail.

In short, although we can't predict when and where it will hail, understanding their formation principles and seasons can help us better cope with this weather phenomenon. In hail weather, try to avoid going out and being hurt by hail.
