Where can I see the three conditions of aurora?

I didn't go to see the aurora, but I always feel incomplete, so today Bian Xiao will tell you about the aurora. I don't know when you will pack your things to see the aurora, so I still want to introduce you.

Production conditions Let's talk about the conditions under which Aurora will be produced:

1. In the high latitudes of the Arctic;

2. Remote areas without light pollution;

The weather is clear and cloudless.

Aurora can be seen in these places on the earth: Alaska, northern Canada, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Sweden and so on. So where is the best place to see it?

1. Alaska, USA

Fairbanks, Alaska, lies on the 65th latitude line, right on the aurora activity belt between 65 and 70 degrees. Moreover, fairbanks has a continental dry climate, which means that the sky here is partly cloudy and partly sunny, and the aurora will not be covered by clouds. The most important point is that the observation period of Alaska aurora is very long. Aurora can only be seen in northern Europe and northern Canada in cold winter, but Alaska can also be seen in autumn and spring. Basically, you can see the aurora on average for more than 240 days a year. Alaska has a natural wind barrier, backed by mountains, and won't feel biting cold in winter, so it is the best place to shoot aurora.

2. Huangdao Town, Northern Canada

Huangdao Town in Canada is also a recommended place to see the aurora, which is located at 62.3 degrees north latitude and only 200 kilometers away from the Arctic Circle. Huangdao Town has a flat terrain, and there is no shelter for the aurora. When the sun is active, you can see the aurora for almost 240 days every year. There is a high probability that you can see the aurora after staying in Huangdao Town for several consecutive nights, and there is also the only aurora tracking observatory in the world.

3. All parts of Iceland

Speaking of Iceland, many people must be familiar with it. In fact, Iceland is famous because it is the only country where aurora can be observed all over the country. In other places, you need to chase the aurora, but in Iceland, you may see the aurora inadvertently. This is why Iceland is so hot. But the average temperature in Iceland in winter is around 0℃. So you don't have to worry that it will be cold to watch the aurora in Iceland.

4. Lapland, Finland

Santa's hometown is also a very suitable place to observe the aurora. One-third of Finland is within the Arctic aperture, with the specific position between 60 and 70 north latitude. In Lapland, the northernmost part of Finland, you can see the aurora every two nights in winter.

5.Biscu, Sweden

Biscu is the northernmost village in Sweden and the Aurora Sky Station recommended by Lonely Planet. Biscu National Park is often chosen as the best aurora observation point in the world. In this park, you can watch the aurora on the polar cable car.

6. Tromso, Norway

Known as the Gate of the Northern Lights, it is an aurora observation place growing on the aurora belt. Tromso is in the Arctic Circle, but the climate is not cold. Affected by the North Atlantic warm current, it also freezes in winter, and the average temperature at night in winter is -5℃.
