Research content of synoptic science

Weather science mainly studies three aspects:

(1) Reveals and discovers atmospheric movement phenomena such as atmospheric circulation, weather system and weather process, and comprehensively summarizes the laws of atmospheric movement.

② Study the structure, occurrence, development and movement of weather systems at different scales in the atmosphere, the interaction among various weather systems and the physical mechanism of atmospheric circulation and weather process evolution.

③ Study weather forecasting methods. First of all, we should carefully analyze the observation data in the weather map to understand the distribution and evolution characteristics of weather systems and weather conditions; Then, using the principle of outline, diagnose and analyze why there is such weather in these areas and why there are such weather characteristics; Finally, it is a general principle and method to forecast the future weather by using synopsis and dynamics principle, combining the products of synoptic model and numerical forecast, and the latest observation data.
