Original explanation: Xiaoqinglong decoction can be used as the main treatment for exogenous diseases with unresolved symptoms, stagnant water and drink, cough, asthma, fever, chills and thirst. When we read Treatise on Febrile Diseases, we often read the word "under the heart". The so-called "under the heart" refers to the place where the stomach, small Qinglong and big Qinglong are commonly used in clinical asthma. Here we can sum up that they usually don't breathe, but they start breathing when the weather is hot, indicating that there is heat in their stomachs, and it is hot outside, but inside their bodies.

Xiaoqinglong decoction is used to remove water by sweating. After removing water, people who are thirsty after drinking soup will feel thirsty after drinking Xiaoqinglong soup, indicating that water has been removed. Asarum is poisonous. Generally, it takes about 3 grams to open asarum. Asarum is very hot. For people with severe stomach cold, asarum and dried ginger should be prescribed to drive away stomach cold. Why use dried ginger instead of ginger? Ginger dispels cold in the stomach and warms the lungs.

Schisandra chinensis, sour, bitter, sweet and salty, has five flavors, so it is called Schisandra chinensis. Its functions are nourishing yin, consolidating essence and nourishing kidney, protecting liver, astringing lung and promoting fluid production. It is said in materia medica that Schisandra moistens the lungs and has a very good effect on cough. Sometimes I cough too much, and some even vomit. So add Pinellia ternate. Pinellia ternata can also be used to treat cough, reduce adverse reactions and remove water. Pinellia ternata can also be used to remove stagnant water in chest cavity. Of course, Pinellia ternata is mainly used for resolving phlegm. Therefore, when Pinellia ternata and Schisandra chinensis are compatible, Pinellia ternata can eliminate phlegm and Schisandra chinensis can relieve cough.

Asarum is a very useful medicine, especially its washing ability is very strong, that is to say, when storing water, the water is not very big, but it is useless for very big and strong water, that is, it is very good for water with steam. For example, when patients with Mahuangtang syndrome cough, their throats will itch and their mouths will not be thirsty. This is Xiaoqinglong soup, and my throat itches, that is, steam rushes up.
