What's delicious in Xianju?
"The eighteen states in Taizhou are not as good as a piece of land in Anling". There was a popular saying about the fertility of soil in Anling. In this "nine mountains, half water and half fields" western mountain city, many farmers began to look outside, and the deep processing of traditional agricultural and sideline products became their new attempt to get rid of poverty and become rich.
Bacon attracts people from the city.
Farmers in Anling have a habit of slaughtering a New Year pig at the end of each year and making it into bacon for the coming year.
Anling is more than 600 meters above sea level and the weather is cool. Pickled meat doesn't need much salt to keep its quality. Coupled with the production process formed over the years, Anling bacon is delicious and unique.
In recent years, farmers in Anling began to eat fresh meat, but their habit of making bacon has not changed. Some people began to try to sell extra bacon and didn't want to be popular with people.
Wang Xiuyan, deputy head of Anling Township, said that not only people around came to buy bacon, but also some large and medium-sized hotels and restaurants in the county. The bacon cooked by every household during the Spring Festival was sold out in less than April and May. This alone, the per capita income of farmers has reached more than 500 yuan.
