The reason is:

Topographically, Shaoguan is located in a relatively low-lying position, surrounded by mountains, and it is difficult for hot air to dissipate in summer, and it is just on the channel where cold air passes through Nanling Mountains in winter; Guangzhou, located in the Pearl River Delta, has a flat terrain, where hot air is relatively easy to dissipate in summer and heats up quickly in winter.
