The air quality index APP data is different, which one is reliable?

The weather APP software on mobile phones generally has air quality monitoring data, and there are many mobile apps that specifically publish air quality. However, the reporter found that the air quality values published by these apps are almost completely different, and the data is always fighting. What's going on here?

Six applications and four kinds of data

On the afternoon of 5th, Mr. Zhang opened the "Ink Weather" on his mobile phone and saw that the air quality index (AQI) in Jinan was 97, 13. However, another software that specializes in air quality shows that the AQI of Jinan is 87 at this time.

The reporter searched for "air quality" in a mobile phone application assistant and found 48 related results. The reporter downloaded and installed 6 apps with large downloads, and prepared to test who these apps are reliable. The reporter found that the air quality in Jinan displayed by these apps is different, and the difference between the highest and lowest is more than 70.

14, Jinan AQI, China air quality, national air quality index, air quality and national air quality were 97, 87, 83 and 87 respectively.

From 87 to 158, the difference between the values displayed by the app actually reached 7 1. According to the air quality grade standard, the value of "China Air Quality" shows that Jinan's air quality is slightly polluted, while other apps show it as good.

The website data is also inconsistent

Not only is the data of mobile APP fighting, but the data of some websites related to air quality is also inconsistent. The reporter saw on the PM2.5 monitoring network that the air quality in Jinan 13 was 82. According to the website statement, the data of the station comes from the most authoritative Ministry of Environmental Protection and is updated every hour.

The reporter also logged into the "National Air Quality Real-time Publishing Platform" of China National Environmental Monitoring Center, and saw that the air quality in Jinan was 13 and the AQI was 87. Compared with the mobile phone air quality APP, the weather, national air quality index and national air quality are consistent with this.

"Ink Weather" once said in the official Weibo that all the air quality data of ink weather came from China National Environmental Monitoring Center, and at the same time, after strict manual comparison, the published data were further ensured to be consistent with the official data. The data of other software also comes from different channels, some claim to come from the public data of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, and some are compiled based on the secondary calculation of public data.

What is the reason for such a big gap? The reporter called Ink Weather, and the company replied that its data did not adopt the AQI calculation standard of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, but obtained the highest values of six pollutants: PM2.5, PM 10, carbon monoxide, ozone, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide through weighted calculation.
