Can a typhoon plane take off?
According to Article 140 of China Civil Aviation Air Traffic Management Rules, under normal circumstances, aircraft should take off and land against the wind. However, if the runway length, slope and clearance conditions allow, and the wind speed does not exceed 3m/s, the aircraft can also take off and land with the wind.
However, the typhoon's wind speed far exceeds the specified value (6-7 winds are strong winds, and the wind speed is between 10.8- 17.2m/s), so the plane cannot land. This is to ensure flight safety and obey the air traffic order.
In addition, typhoons are usually accompanied by heavy rain or heavy rain. When the plane passes through the minefield, the electric field in the prominent parts such as the fuselage of the plane is very strong, and the plane is easily struck by lightning.
The danger of flying in typhoon days;
1, Thunderstorm Thunderstorm: Lightning may damage the aircraft body, affect the normal operation of radio communication and cockpit electronic equipment in flight, and then affect the positioning and navigation of the aircraft. Strong winds and heavy precipitation will cause a sudden drop in visibility, which is lower than the operating standard. If it happens in the landing phase, it will lead to unstable landing attitude of the aircraft, and may even lead to deviation from the runway.
2. Strong wind: typhoons often cause strong winds, and the maximum wind force near the typhoon center is generally above 8. Strong wind will not only cause bumps in flight, but also cause the plane to deviate from the route.
3. Fog: The heavy precipitation and fog brought by typhoon seriously affect the sight distance in flight activities, reduce visibility and affect flight.
4. Hail attack: The plane encountered hail in flight. Because of the high relative velocity, the radome, wing, horizontal stabilizer and other components are more likely to be hit by hail.
5. Wind shear: The wind shear that is most harmful to safety is caused by typhoon. If the wind reaches more than 30 knots, the plane will not take off normally.
