The "Yingchuan falling dragon" incident 90 years ago was obviously full of doubts. Why are there so many witnesses?

As a mythical animal in Chinese civilization, dragons often appear in various literary stories. Of course, most readers know that this is only the product of folk virtual novels. However, there are always all kinds of rumors among the people, even in the official history, the existence of dragons has been mentioned, such as Lu Ye Abao, the founder of Liao Dynasty, shooting dragons.

And 90 years ago, an incident of "Yingchuan falling into a dragon" in the northeast of China also attracted the attention of the world.

1July, 934, a story began to spread in villages around Tianzhuangtai, Yingkou, Liaoning. Some people claimed that a live dragon suspected of being stranded was found at Tianzhuangtai, and everyone gave it a shed and water. As a result, it rained heavily for several days and then disappeared.

At the beginning of August, Shengjing Times mentioned that on July 28th, witnesses said that there was a dragon flying up and down in Yingkou sky, and three ships were damaged, resulting in nine deaths.

On August 8, among the reeds in Liaohekou 10 km, the villagers found a body exactly like a dragon, which was 10 m long and was finally carried ashore by everyone.

At this time, Northeast China was occupied by Japanese and Puppet Manchuria. The pseudo-Yingkou police station sent the dragon's body to the open space of the West Customs Terminal for everyone to visit, which became the local headline news for a time. A large number of Shengjing residents came from all over the country just to see the real dragon. Finally, the keel was left in a normal school in Yingkou. In the next war, the keel finally disappeared.

What happened a few months later was finally called the incident of "Yingchuan descending the dragon", and many photos were born, which were also bought by many citizens at that time.

From today's perspective, a few unclear photos are not enough to provide evidence that it is a dragon. With the disclosure of CCTV's "Approaching Science", an old man named Sun stayed at home for 63 years. It is said that the skeleton of the keel was handed over to the researchers of the Natural Museum for identification, but the research institute said that it was only a wild horse fossil that had been placed for more than 10,000 years.

However, in addition to the report of Shengjing Times, many old people also expressed positive views on "Dragon-dropping" and said that they were witnesses of that year.

For example, an old man named Little Su Qin mentioned that when she was 9 years old, she was put in a carriage by her father and watched a dying "living dragon" with everyone. Its eyes are big and it is dying on the ground. Many people think dragons are auspicious, so even lazy people are very active in carrying water.

Sun Zhengren, who provided fossils, also said that the faucet at that time was huge, bent on the ground and more than ten meters long. In the case of many doubts, what caused so many witnesses

Scientists have also put forward their own opinions, one of which is more credible. Yingchuan is not far from the estuary. The dragon in this villager's mouth is probably a cetacean creature that strayed into the river, because some villagers recalled that the dragon "has seven or eight long whiskers, which are thick and hard", similar to the characteristics of baleen whales and other creatures.

In addition, the dragon bones on public display at the pier are actually collected by people, bound in boxes and rearranged. It is not difficult to rule out the possibility that some bones are mistaken for dragon horns and thus spliced on the head.

But this conclusion is not enough to explain what happened in Yingkou that year, and the villagers' testimony is conclusive, which has become a mystery that cannot be solved for the time being.
