What if there is fog in car headlights?
Car owners who don't know the reason may also think that the poor sealing of the headlights leads to water entering the headlights, or that the lampshade is damaged and water vapor penetrates into the headlights.
As far as the overall structure of the headlight is concerned, whether it is a common halogen headlight, a xenon headlight or a headlight with an LED light group, there is an exhaust hose on the back cover. When the headlights are turned on, even when they are used, a lot of heat will be generated. The function of the ventilation pipe is to exhaust the heat of the headlight as much as possible, maintain the normal working temperature of the headlight and ensure the stable use of the headlight.
This is the ventilation pipe, and the moisture in the air will enter the headlights through the ventilation pipe and attach to the lampshade. With the accumulation of water vapor, water droplets will flow down the lampshade. This situation is mostly caused by large temperature difference, which is most likely to occur in winter and rainy season.
In this case, you don't have to worry too much. After the headlights are turned on for a period of time, the fog will be discharged through the snorkel with hot air, which will basically not damage the headlights and circuits. In this case, drivers and friends must not act rashly, for example, never bake headlights, which is easy to damage headlights, because headlights are made of plastic, and excess heat can easily burn out lampshades, and most of this damage is irreparable.
In addition to weather changes, human factors will also make the lights "tearful", such as wading vehicles and washing cars. When a vehicle wades, because the engine and exhaust system are relatively large heat sources, a large amount of water vapor will be formed when rain falls on them, and some water vapor will enter the headlights along the snorkel.
Washing the car is more direct. Some car owners like to wash the engine compartment with high-pressure water guns, and there is an indescribable sense of happiness when watching the soil and leaves being repelled by the high-pressure water guns in their hands. After cleaning, the accumulated water in the engine compartment was not treated in time. After the hood is covered, the water vapor cannot be released to the outside of the car quickly, and the water vapor trapped in the engine compartment may enter the headlights.
When cleaning the engine compartment, wipe it with cotton silk or cotton cloth, or blow it with high-pressure air to avoid the engine parts from getting wet.
The above situation is that the water in the lamp is relatively slight. However, if there is enough water in your headlights to raise fish, you should take it apart, open the lampshade, dry it, and check whether the headlight surface is damaged or leaking. If no abnormality is found, we generally recommend replacing the sealing strip and ventilation pipe on the headlight rear cover.
In winter and rainy season, car owners had better get into the habit of checking headlights regularly. For example, check the vehicle after wading. Early detection and early remedy, timely troubleshooting in the bud.
