Shuangshimen, located near the Nanshan watershed in Weiyuan County, is named after two narrow stone gates in the valley. Shuangshimen is located at 10 km south of Huichuan Town, Weiyuan County, 50 km away from Weiyuan County, and only 150 km away from Lanzhou City, and it can go back and forth in one day.

The unique landscape of Shuangshimen is inseparable from the mountains to which it belongs. In the depths of Shuangshimen Canyon, the peaks are connected, and the highest peak is the exposed peak, which is known as the "supporting the sky and silver monument". The main peak is 394 1 m above sea level, which is the highest peak in several nearby counties and the junction of Zhangxi 'an County, Weiyuan County and zhuoni.

At the mouth of Shuangshimen Canyon, a group of yaks are grazing leisurely at the mouth of the gully. Although it is noon, the wind blowing on my face brings a unique coolness at high altitude. Not long after entering the ditch, it is the first stone gate. Two rocks stand opposite each other. The width of the stone gate can be used by a car, but the gravel on the ground is sharp and steep. Under normal circumstances, people can only "abandon their cars" outside the Shimen and enter on foot.

After crossing the first stone gate, it was replaced by a rugged mountain road with a narrow road surface. My eyes suddenly opened. The mountains are surrounded by steep slopes, but in front of us is a vast alpine meadow with infinite vitality, which is in the shape of an inclined terrace, starting from both sides of the stream in the middle of the canyon and gradually rising.

Deep into the canyon, with streams as the boundary, virgin forests gradually began to appear in the south of the water, and meadows remained in the north of the water. Judging from the lens launched by the drone, the grassland and the forest are obviously symmetrical. Finally, the grassland disappeared, and the scene in front of us was full of rocks and dense forests.

Between the rocks, a stream overflowed. If you want to explore the mystery of the second stone gate, you must go forward bravely. The water potential here is much larger than that in the canyon, and the stone blocks the water flow quickly.

Bypassing this sharp bend in front of you, you can see the second stone gate. The stream merges into a deep pool, and at the end of the pool are two rocks that rise from the ground and shrink inward more and more, just like a thin crack in a mountain, from which the stream flows out, making the cold more intense. This is the second stone gate in the Double Stone Gate.

Compared with the first stone gate, this stone gate is particularly majestic. No wonder it is also called Xiaoshimen and Dashimen among locals and donkey friends.

The two stone gates are said to be one kilometer apart, but they waded down with their feet, which actually felt a bit like "Xiu Yuan Road is a long way to go, and Xiu Yuan Xi".

Entering the second big stone gate, a heavy sense of oppression came to my face. In the gap where one person can pass, there are obvious plank road holes left by manual excavation on the stone walls on both sides. It is said that this is the starting point for the famous Deng Ai of the Three Kingdoms to sneak into Yin Ping to dig a plank road.

According to historical records, it was here in the autumn of 255 AD that Wargo climbed the cliff, built a plank road, and recruited 5,000 elite Qiang and Hu soldiers to attack in Weiyuan.

Today, the plank road in this stone gate no longer exists, but the remains of the ancient road still exist. On the cliff, the holes on the plank road that once wore wooden beams are still neatly listed on the cliff wall. ...

Before coming, who would have thought that behind the stone gate cut by two knives and axes was a cool world of mountains, rivers, cattle and sheep.

The traffic route starts from Lanzhou, passes through Lanhai Expressway to Lintao, turns to National Highway 2 12, and reaches Weiyuan Huichuan Town 10 km, with a total length of 150 km.
