Influence of Typhoon No.9 on Maoming

At 8: 00 a.m. on August 4th, the South China Sea depression turned into a tropical storm, and it was also named "lupit" by the typhoon, which is also the 9th typhoon this year.

As of 9: 00, Typhoon lupit maintained a tropical storm level and was located about 330 kilometers southwest of the border between Fujian and Guangdong. It is expected to move northeast at a speed of about 10 km per hour.

Judging from the typhoon track map, "lupit" may still land at the junction of Fujian and Guangdong.

As typhoons generally move along the coast of Guangdong, they will bring obvious wind and rain impacts to southern Guangdong and coastal areas from west to east in the next few days, especially in the Pearl River Estuary and the east, and the coastal wind will gradually increase to 8- 10.

At present, the Provincial Third Prevention Office and the Provincial Emergency Management Department have launched typhoon-level emergency response, and the province has launched five typhoon yellow warnings, 19 typhoon blue warnings and three typhoon white warnings.

The Provincial Meteorological Observatory predicts that due to the influence of tropical depression, there will be heavy rains in cities and counties in the southern part of the Pearl River Delta and eastern Guangdong from the night of the 3rd to the 6th, and moderate to thunderstorm and partial heavy rains in other cities and counties. The sea surface wind in the central and eastern parts of our province gradually increased to 7-9 gusts 10.

Affected by lupit, there were heavy rains or heavy rains in eastern Guangdong, southern Pearl River Delta and Meizhou from April 4 to 6, with moderate to strong thunderstorms in western Guangdong and moderate thunderstorms and local heavy rains in other cities and counties. There are 7~9 strong winds in the central and eastern seas of our province and cities and counties in eastern Guangdong, with gusts of 10.

Affected by the peripheral circulation of "lupit", since the morning of the 3rd, there have been moderate to heavy rains in western Guangdong, western cities and counties of the Pearl River Estuary, eastern Guangdong, Heyuan and Meizhou. Among them, some towns and streets in Zhuhai, Foshan, Shanwei, Maoming and Zhanjiang have experienced heavy rains, some have short-term strong winds, and other cities and counties have experienced moderate thunderstorms and strong winds, and some have heavy rains.

The structure of "lupit" is asymmetric, and the strong convection is mainly in the south.

Before the main precipitation cloud system has landed, it is mainly to prevent strong convection caused by strong winds at sea and typhoons! Typhoon lupit is like a washing machine. The "dehydration" mode will throw the thunderstorm clouds ashore and then turn around. Needless to say, you should take an umbrella when you go out.

After landing, it will drive the convergence zone northward, and the monsoon landing will bring continuous heavy precipitation to the south and east of our province. Pay attention to rain, waterlogging, flood and geological disasters! Especially don't go to dangerous areas such as mountains, low-lying, lakes and beaches!
