Temperature range of sleet

When the near-surface temperature is slightly higher than 0℃, the temperature range of sleet should be below 0℃.

Sleet refers to the weather phenomenon that semi-melted snow (wet snow) or rain and snow come at the same time. It mostly happens when the near-surface temperature is slightly higher than 0℃. Usually in the south.

Snow shower refers to the snow with short snowfall time, great intensity change and sudden start and stop. Snow is mainly produced in clouds with a temperature below 0℃, and its formation process is similar to that of rain. However, the air temperature from the cloud bottom to the ground should be 0℃ or below.

The production of snow is related to the slow exchange of cold and warm air in a large range. Cold and warm air are evenly matched. When the temperature is high, sleet often forms. In this way, if the snowfall lasts for a long time, there will be such a saying as "sleet, no rest". When the cold air force is strong and the ground temperature drops to 0℃ or below, it often forms a strong cold air force, and when the ground temperature drops to 0℃ or below, it often forms snowfall. At this time, the warm air was evacuated from the south, and the weather turned fine, making it clear that "it will be fine if it snows". When the cold air is very strong, it usually snows heavily, and the warm air moves south quickly, and the weather changes quickly and lasts for a long time, so there is a saying that "it will be sunny and sunny."

Snow and rain are caused by clouds in the air or small water droplets that condense when cold. But it needs a nucleus in the early stage of its formation. This core is usually affected by dust in the air. When the temperature gets cold, the temperature of dust drops faster than that of water droplets. At this time, small water droplets will gather and attach to small dust to form larger water droplets. When it is bigger than air, it will fall, and it will fall bigger and bigger, thus forming rain. When the temperature in the sky is very cold, it is not raining, but snowing or hail. These things happen at high altitude, but if the temperature is high at low altitude, some snow will melt into water and turn into rain and snow when it reaches the ground.
