This market is the largest distribution center of folk handicrafts in China. There are snuff bottles in Hengshui, New Year pictures in Yangliuqing, embroidery in Jiangsu, woodcarving in Dongyang, stone carving in Quyang, shadow play in Shandong, porcelain and crystal ornaments in Jiangxi, purple sand in Yixing, bronze wares in Shaanxi, costumes in Yunnan, buddhist supplies in Tibet, white jade in Xinjiang, and jiaochi pottery in Taiwan Province. These handicrafts with different folk customs are gathered in Panjiayuan from all over the country and sold to the whole country and the world from here.
Panjiayuan second-hand market was rated as "Top Ten Antique Markets in China" by public voting at the "First China Collection Annual Ranking Awards Conference" in 2004.
