One-day tour address and weather at Jiangmen Liang Qichao’s Former Residence Memorial Hall

Jiangmen has a new high-speed railway. To experience the trip, I accidentally went to the former residence of Liang Qichao, and I really felt a lot of different content. If you are like me, it would be similar to the former residence of Chen Baisha and the former residence of Liang Qichao. They are all writers whom I admire very much.

Recently, I went to Jiangmen. It turns out that I just wanted to buy train tickets online and take the intercity light rail. By the way, I saw Chen Baisha’s former residence, but I didn’t expect to bump into Liang Qichao’s former residence. I'm really excited.

I got on the light rail train at Guangzhou South Railway Station. It only took me an hour to get to Jiangmen Light Rail Station.

After getting off the train, I took the bus to find Chen Baisha’s former residence. (Chen Xianzhang, a great scholar in the Ming Dynasty, has been turned into Jiangmen Museum). , I was stunned and found that I was wrong. On Monday, the gates were closed, leaving only an ancient archway to visit. I had no choice but to take a few random photos, which semi-fulfilled my dream of visiting Chen Baisha’s former residence.

Later, I was surprised to find that there was a bus on the road that could go directly to Liang Qichao’s former residence in Xinhui. As soon as the car arrived, I rushed up and got on it - it only cost 4 yuan.

My admiration for Liang Qichao, the great modern reformer and academic master, can be said to be a flowing river. I have read Liang Qichao's "Young China" since I was a child, and Liang Qichao's name has been deeply imprinted in my mind. I have always believed that Liang Qichao was the most outstanding figure in China over the past century, including "General Discussion on Reform", "Xin Min Cong Shuo", "Biography of Li Hongzhang", "Introduction to Academics in the Qing Dynasty", "Eighteen Chapters on Buddhist Studies", "China's Recent Three Years" I have read works such as "A Hundred Years of Academic History".

This is because I admire Mr. Liang very much. When I came to Beijing more than ten years ago, I wanted to see the tomb of Liang Qichao near the Yonghe Lama Temple. However, it was too hasty and the tomb was located in the suburbs, so I didn’t go. But today I visited the Guangzhou Wanzhang Memorial Hall (today’s Guangzhou No. 2 Middle School) at Wanmu Thatched Cottage near Zhongshan No. 2 Middle School. As for Liang Qichao’s former residence, I always want to see it. Just because the former residence is located in a remote place, but he has never been there.

Departing from Jiangmen City, the car drove through Xinhui City and finally stopped at Chakeng Village. This is such a simple place, but it is the birthplace and early life of the famous Mr. Ren Gong.

Liang Qichao's environment is very ordinary, and the villagers look very simple. It’s a long way from the roadside to Liang Qichao’s former residence. Tall South Sea palm trees are planted on both sides of the road. Before Liang Qichao's former residence, it was opened up into a square with a large pond.

It was Monday and there were not many people in the former residence. In front of the former residence, there is an introduction to the former residence of Liang Qichao. Several tourists were watching fish playing in the water by the pool. The environment is very quiet. The tourists just giggled, having little sense of the vicissitudes of history. They just want to see what the building looks like. The statue of Liang Qichao stands upright, with his eyes slightly downward, as if he is thinking.

Liang Qichao’s former residence looks very old. It was built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. Although the house is small, it looks a bit complicated. This is an antique blue brick house, consisting of the former residence, Yitang study room, corridor and other buildings, with a construction area of ??more than 400 square meters. The former residence has a main entrance, a toilet, a dining room and two ear rooms. There are courtyards in front of the two halls, and stairs on one side of the front hall, leading directly to the top-floor pavilion and study. Yitang Library was built by Liang Qichao's great-grandfather. This is the place where Liang Qichao studied and received traditional Confucian education in his youth.
