Combining the virtual and the real, expressing feelings in the scenery

——Reading Wang Changzheng’s collection of poems "Drifting in Beijing"

Text/Zheng Cai

I am a teacher in Huade County, a remote area of ??Inner Mongolia. Wang Changzheng is a poet from Anhui who came from Beipiao. It was by chance that I met Wang Changzheng. We had never met each other before, but it was the Internet that gave me the opportunity to get to know Wang Changzheng and read his collection of poems "Drifting in Beijing".

1. Getting to know Wang Changzheng

I love literature and often browse some articles on online platforms. One day in the twelfth lunar month of 2017, I accidentally read one of his poems "After the Rain" on a literary public account: Holding a small umbrella/walking towards the Rainbow Bridge/there is fresh air/poetry. Calling//The rain gradually stopped/Looking at the blue sky/I don’t know when Chang’e/will come to the world... The poem is fresh and elegant, which can be read and yet subtle. "Holding a small umbrella in the rain, walking towards the Rainbow Bridge" reminds readers of the beautiful love story between White Snake and Xu Xian on the broken bridge in the West Lake that has been passed down through the ages. "The rain gradually stopped", one naturally "looks" at "the sky is blue and blue"; this is both real and imaginary. When seeing the sky, one naturally thinks of the moon and another beautiful love legend - Chang'e died because she secretly took the elixir of immortality. As a result, she unexpectedly flew to the Moon Palace alone, feeling lonely and regretful. She hoped that her husband Hou Yi would save her and fly down to the Moon Palace as soon as possible so that the couple could be reunited. In just one short poem, two beautiful love stories are cleverly embedded into the poem without any sense of elaboration. The thoughts and feelings expressed in the poem are self-evident, which shows the poet's superb expression skills and profound cultural heritage. Reading Just make it pleasing to the eye.

In this way, I was deeply attracted by Wang Changzheng’s poems, so I left a message under the article, hoping that the editor would send Wang Changzheng’s WeChat ID. Unexpectedly, this intentional or unintentional wish came true. A few days later, the editor posted Wang Changzheng’s WeChat account. What excites me even more is that Wang Changzheng quickly approved my application for admission, and since then I have crossed paths with him. In the WeChat circle, I saw news of the publication of the poetry collection "Floating in Beijing" published on several central-level websites. After contacting Wang Changzheng on WeChat, he learned that I was on a business trip in Beijing, so he made an appointment to meet me despite his busy schedule. He was careful and worried that the WeChat contact would occasionally go wrong, so he took the initiative to send his mobile phone number. Following his prompts, I walked from Shuangjing on the East Third Ring Road to his unit on the West Fourth Ring Road. At this time, the office door was ajar. Wang Changzheng, who had been waiting there for a long time, listened to the footsteps and opened the door enthusiastically to welcome me into the room. He was polite, but his natural and sincere actions of asking me to take off my coat and pouring me water made my heart warm. As he was talking, his cell phone rang, and I could see that even though it was the weekend, he was still very busy. So I took the copy of "Floating in Beijing" and a magazine that he signed and presented as a gift and got up and left. He kindly tried to persuade me to stay and insisted on treating me to dinner. I saw his sincerity and stopped refusing, so we went to a nearby restaurant. Of course, I didn’t want a treat, but I wanted to take this opportunity to chat with him for a while longer.

During this period, Wang Changzheng told me the essence of writing poetry, the language of poetry, focusing on the tension and expressiveness of poetry language, virtual writing and real writing, which benefited me a lot.

Farewell to Wang Changzheng, following his prompts, I went to Xinhua Bookstore on Wangfujing Street and quickly found another of his books on the shelf - "Stories of Time-honored Brands in Xicheng District, Beijing". Then he returned to his hometown in Inner Mongolia with these two books in his arms.

2. Entering the poetry collection "Floating in Beijing"

I read Wang Changzheng's poetry collection "Drifting in Beijing" in one breath, and I couldn't help but feel excited and couldn't calm down for a long time. This poetry collection contains a total of 139 poems and three articles, with the title inscribed by the famous translator and poet Mr. Tu An. The opening chapter is the preface to the collection of poems written by Mr. Qiao Yanfeng, the famous literary critic and former editor-in-chief of "Poetry News". Mr. Qiao made accurate comments on the ideological content, artistic features and language style of the collection of poems, and spoke highly of Wang Changzheng. praise. On the back of the collection of poems are eight famous modern and contemporary poets, poetry critics, university professors, heads of relevant societies, associations and publishing houses, who made concise and high-level evaluations of the collection of poems and Wang Changzheng from their respective aesthetic perspectives.

The first part of the poetry collection "Drifting in Beijing" is a collection of 26 poems. The content is mainly about the difficulties and bitterness, confusion and confidence, hesitation and determination of the Beipiao people in pursuing their dreams in Beijing. "The capital, the great dreamer" is the first line of the poem "Floating in Beijing", which is like a thunderclap that is thought-provoking and contemplative. Because "at night in Beijing/sometimes there is heavy smog/sometimes there are stars/looking up/or living with your head down/it all depends on your choice"; "the night is dim/under the bustling scene/some people go to entertainment venues to indulge in sex/someone drinks to drown their sorrows with long sighs" /Sing to the breeze and the bright moon.” Just because of your wrong choice, the result is "how many people come quietly/how many people leave quietly"; if you make the right choice in the bustling capital, your dreams will come true; if you make the wrong choice, you can only do nothing and leave silently.

"Floating in Beijing" is inspiring, thought-provoking and inspiring. For those dream chasers who have firm ideals and beliefs like poets, they may encounter hardships, confusion, and discrimination and disdain, but they will never lose their independent personality, let alone stop pursuing their dreams. The footsteps of dreams, despite the tremendous pain in my heart.

"Aching Fingers": The fingers are sore/kiss them gently/This is the finger I use to hold a pen/This is the finger I use to write poetry//This stranger's foreign land/Somewhat disoriented/I pull hard/Myself Painful fingers/make them hold their chests and heads high//I envy those who have no fingers/they get harvest without working/but I can’t wait for the harvest/even though the sky is slowly falling...no matter how big the difficulties are, To continue to pursue his literary dream, the image of a poet who "clings to the green hills and never relaxes" and "remains strong despite repeated hardships" emerges on the page.

The second part "Looking at the sky in the center of the city" *** has 19 songs, starting with "Looking at the sky in the center of the city": "I stand in the center of the city / Can't see the sky in my hometown" These two sentences are both real and fictitious. Although the poem only has two sentences, it contains rich connotations; the city is mostly filled with hazy skies, and there is also a gap between people, and the sincerity that is difficult to reveal will always be there. It is not like the green mountains, green waters, white clouds and blue sky of my hometown, nor can I see the simplicity and sincerity between people in my hometown, which implicitly expresses the poet's thoughts and feelings.

In the center of the city, the "sky of hometown" cannot be seen, so the poet has no choice but to let his imagination run wild. "Looking at the distant mountains": A light mist / Reflecting the sunset outside the window / Birds spreading their wings / Spreading a picture A radiant painting/a little poem/lost here//busy traffic downstairs/busy alleyways/full of false friendships//looking at the distant mountains/wildflowers trembling in front of the slope/there must be a smell among the flowers The sweet girl/I really want to take her home... The poet uses the combination of virtual and real, metaphors, symbols, contrasts and other expression techniques to satirize the hypocrisy between people in the city under the cover of prosperity. On the other hand, it expresses sincere praise and yearning for the natural, sincere and simple beauty of my hometown.

Another song "Morning": Early in the morning/on top of the tall buildings in the capital/I saw the gorgeous morning glow/no matter how beautiful this scene is/it can't compare to my hometown/beside the autumn river/the sunset glows... The poet uses contrast and contrast techniques to praise his hometown. He praises more than just the beautiful scenery of his hometown!

The third part, "Hymns of the Village in the City" *** is a collection of 23 poems. These poems describe and depict the bitterness of the lives of the people at the bottom, the harsh living environment and the difficult living conditions. The poet strives to touch their kind hearts hidden under the appearance of "humbleness is not beautiful", and expresses infinite sympathy for the people struggling at the bottom. "Hymn of a Village in the City": "... migrant workers with sallow faces and skinny muscles, / unkempt sojourners / they are disheveled / wandering in the city." "Words related to them are often - riding a three-wheeler, collecting scraps, doing odd jobs... /Living at the bottom of the city/Often harassed by the underworld and the police/Their faces are black, yellow, and purple/covered with wind and frost and full of hardship.” The poet uses realistic techniques to reproduce the hardships and hardships of the people living at the bottom. It’s not easy; even so, these people who don’t look “noble” have their own spiritual pursuits. "Material poverty/should have made life difficult.../They gathered together/holding Bibles/with solemn expressions/praising ancient heroes/praising the unyielding Son of God/praising free and noble souls/in a dark and cramped room/without any noise/a Pious hearts/facing the blue sky and white clouds..." Urban construction sites are where the largest number of migrant workers gather, and they are also where they hope to make "big money." It is here that you can best see their hardship, bitterness, and helplessness, and even the "heaven" "Collapse of sadness and despair. "Construction Site": The north wind howls/Blows the shabby clothes/Lack of sleep/Opening blurred eyes/In the past year/He has had three relatives/Died due to work-related injuries/Shaking hands/Caressing the photos of his wife and children / Still did not say "leave"... The poet did not use any expressive techniques, but directly touched life with white description. There was not a word of lyricism in the whole article, but it showed the poet's infinite sympathy for them; the last sentence ended abruptly, and he received what he had said. The infinite artistic effect shocks the readers' souls.

The poet also paid attention to many people living at the bottom, such as scavengers, beggars, street girls, and singing artists; he showed infinite compassion for their living conditions and hardships. "Touched": A corner of the park/covered with lush grass/an old beggar/standing in the middle of the weeds singing/like a singer under the spotlight/devoted to emotion/until/until two muddy tears came out of the corner of his eyes.

Everyone hopes that their life will be full of sunshine and happy every day. However, the reality is not like this. There are always dark and gray times.

The fourth part, "Gray Life" (***22 poems), expresses this content. "Autumn Wind": The autumn wind blows the cicadas into old age/stops the shouting of midsummer/what kind of wind is this? /I grabbed a handful in the void/as if I had grasped fate//I held tightly/the breath of this world/still cannot stop/the wheel of time... Even though the environment is occasionally a little gray and the mood is occasionally a little gray, It can never stop the poet's "heartbeat" from pursuing his dreams. "Gray Life": Gray sighs/very light and quiet/soak the whole city/gray high-rise buildings/grey roads/viaducts are also gray/even the youthful face/is covered with gray wind and frost//unawakening smoke Dreaming into the night/The rain beats on the indifferent window lattice/The winding path leads to the quiet/Long sigh/With my warm heartbeat...

As the poet said: "Reading and writing poetry... is a kind of spiritual support and faith, a spiritual motivation to pursue a better life...", but the poet also admitted that "poetry is also weak and powerless. It can only change oneself, but it is difficult to change society." Faced with all kinds of "gloom" in social life, the poet I can only look forward to it and sigh.

"Street": The crowds of people in the city square/are pushed forward/as if they are pitching in the water//the streets retreating in a hurry/suddenly an astonishing wave rises/on the overpass/a mentally disturbed woman/dancing/without any clothes/ / Among the onlookers there must be / aunts from the neighborhood committee, thieves, hawkers, college students... / There must also be / civil servants, teachers, lawyers, big bosses... / They are crowded, laughing / picking up cameras, applauding and cheering / / My heart is full of mixed feelings/my thoughts are in the world/struggles with contradictions/at this time, a little girl comes up with a smile/holding a piece of loose clothing in her hand.

Faced with a mentally disturbed naked woman, no adult stood up and offered a piece of clothing to protect her "shame". They were all cheering and taking pictures, but it was these dark-hearted people who should really feel ashamed. Spectators. The appearance of the little girl is the embodiment of the poet's conscience. The poet uses a combination of fiction and reality to satirize the hypocrisy and darkness of the people in the market, and calls for the return of human conscience. Life is like an endless river. In the whirlpool of the river, some are strong, some are cowardly, some are noble, some are despicable, some persist, and some transform...

Fifth In part of the "whirlpool" (30 poems in the *** compilation), all living beings are here, with different shapes and different expressions. "Cowards": He dare not help the old man on the street/Children walked quickly after falling into the water/My wife was touched and kept silent/The leader did not dare to criticize when he made a mistake/He felt unlucky when he was robbed at home/He did not dare to call the police when he was robbed//The yard is overgrown I still feel it is not safe enough to hide in the weeds/invisibility. He swore to be a strong man/It had only been two years since he entered society/He could hardly recognize himself more and more... It satirized the image of a giant in words and a dwarf in actions, a pitiful and pitiful figure. Such a wise and self-protective figure in social life There is no shortage of them.

"Human Flavor" portrays the image of a man who makes a lot of money but ignores his mother and only cares about satisfying his own vanity. "On the one hand, he is a philanthropist who helps the poor, and on the other hand, he is an unfilial son who is extremely busy. Last month I saw my mother in ragged clothes and mentioned him with an extremely angry expression -" Such a philanthropist may be said to be "good" ", but his mother was "incomparably angry" with him; for being so charitable, he did not do his best to avoid tarnishing his reputation as a philanthropist. "After he got rich, he often pretended not to care/Invite familiar friends to high-end hotels/His body exudes perfume, copper smell, official smell/But there is no smell of humanity"... Such a person must have such a transformation, the poem The ending is a wonderful irony.

The characters in "Bad Weather" have a different look: The boss has to go out to do errands/There is heavy smog outside/I suggest walking/He suddenly loses/his original good mood//"It's all the fault of the factory /The chimney with the smoke”/After hearing this, the boss glared/Played hegemony on me/He said it had nothing to do with the chimney/If you want to blame it, blame some grassroots/Eat too many rotten sweet potatoes/Three days Farting from both ends. The concise and clear dialogue, coupled with the description of the "glaring" expression, vividly depicts the image of a domineering "social elite" who has the right to speak and blames the common people for "the cause of the weather and haze". It's not the common people who "fart" at the end, but the unconscionable boss.

Although "Learning Calligraphy" is short, it contains profound thoughts: Earn the first salary/In exchange for calligraphy and painting that cannot eat or drink/A rich man shakes his head and asks/I can only give a simple answer/Why don't you cut it off cruelly? /That empty head on your neck? Indeed, for "ears without a sense of music, the most beautiful music is meaningless." Similarly, "calligraphy and painting that cannot be eaten or drunk" are worthless in the eyes of the rich who can only recognize money; that ignorant question, This completely angered the poet, who gave a powerful reply to those who did not respect knowledge and art.

Just like wanderers who wander abroad, poets often miss their hometown and their relatives in their hometown. The poet turns his nostalgia into full of words and embeds it in his poems.

The sixth part "Dream of Grandpa in Beijing" (18 poems in *** collection) expresses the poet's nostalgia and feelings of fellow villagers.

"Native Sound": There is a voice/close yet distant/a tone/blurred yet moving/hidden in the age of innocence/long in my dream hometown/I can never see it clearly/but remains with me In the poems//I want the native accent/to quietly take root in the city/the rhythm of Dagu Shu is sonorous/to light up the charming scenery/but the integration of society and culture/makes the number of people who can hear the beautiful scenery/fewer and fewer... of Dagu Shu in my hometown The charm of art, although far away, will always move "me"; the sonorous and powerful music sounds in my dreams. However, due to the integration of social culture, my "local accent" has gradually been assimilated, revealing the author's faint worries.

In this part, the poet wrote six poems in memory of his grandfather, such as "Grandpa's Funeral", "Reading Poems to Grandpa", "Missing Grandpa", "Dreaming of Grandpa in Beijing", "Brothers", etc. , simple language and sincere feelings.

"Reading Poems to Grandpa": That winter was colder than this year/I lost you, Grandpa/It was like I suddenly lost the whole village/Grandpa, tonight I sat alone in front of the window and listened to the roar of the wind/It was this ruthless wind that took away I lost you, my grandpa/I can’t forgive it/I can’t forgive myself/I will never have the chance to read a poem to grandpa/Grandpa, I clearly feel your insomnia/You must have the same regrets/Please don’t blame me This poem is bitter/it will turn into soil and become smoke/accompany you to live in the countryside of another world...

Reading poems to grandpa became the most intimate and touching moment between "me" and grandpa. , this moment is forever fixed in the poet's heart. This pure and true love turns into a bitter poem and becomes the eternal memory of his grandfather. "Missing Grandpa": "Grandpa, I have no sleep tonight / I seem to see your white hair fluttering / Holding the loess tightly against my heart / I can faintly hear your old cries / So sad and desolate / The sound of beating on me "In my heart"... It is this kind of yearning and longing for my grandfather that turned into a dream, and I met my grandfather in the dream. "Dreaming of Grandpa in Beijing": "...he stretched out his hand to me/holding a wad of money in his slender fingers/'I heard you are suffering here.../the money they gave me...can't be spent all." /Cough, cough...I'll give it all to you'//He spoke intermittently/exactly the same as when he was alive/his beard is still gray/with a look of pity and worry"...

(3) Not superfluous words< /p>

Literature has always been a "study of people", which means that the literature is like the person it is; the thoughts, feelings and aesthetic views expressed in the works are in the same vein as the poet's ideological realm. Wang Changzheng believes that if you want to write good works, you must go to the bottom, get close to the masses, and integrate into life. Pay attention to them and look at them with equal eyes. Writers must have social responsibilities as well as cultural responsibilities. Only talking about "individualism" will lead to a dead end and be shameful. It is precisely because of this outlook on life and literature that his works are rich in content, close to life, and profound in thought. They not only express the hardship, bitterness, confusion, struggle and dreams of the Beidiao people, but also express the poet's "eye-level view" "The vision" focuses on the lives and living conditions of the people at the bottom, and touches the deepest part of their spiritual world.

Reading his works made me realize the poet's social responsibility. Although he is only 25 years old, his works are not about expressing personal feelings, but about general concerns about society. Self”. Beipiao people, migrant workers, beggars, street girls, bosses, managers, rich people, artists, teachers, leaders... Almost all the portraits of people living in Beijing have entered the poet's literary vision one by one. Aesthetic filtering shows the faces of characters and living beings, allowing readers to see hardships and hardships, struggles and struggles, glory and dreams, nobility and despicability, as well as vulgarity and filth...

Wang Changzheng The language of his poems is simple, concise, concise yet implicit, without the incomprehensible haziness and obscurity of some poems. The flexible use of various techniques such as the combination of virtual and real, association and imagination, dialogue and detailed description, etc., makes the poetic language rich and colorful. Give readers a vivid and lively feeling.

Wang Changzheng’s poems mostly reflect the reality of today’s Beijing and even China’s society today. They are a mirror to peer into the rapid changes in Beijing and even China’s society today. Appreciating his poems not only gives readers a beautiful Artistic enjoyment and a spiritual shock.

Tan Wuchang, director of the Research Center for Contemporary Chinese Poetry at Beijing Normal University and a famous poetry critic, commented on the back of the collection of poems "Drifting in Beijing": ""Drifting in Beijing" shows a young poet from other provinces with an honest writing attitude. The embarrassment and mental confusion of living in Beijing, the faithful record and poetic description of the Beijing experience of a foreigner, especially the author’s aesthetic expression of the pain experience from the depths of his soul, have the artistic power to move people’s hearts! ”

The internationally renowned poet Love wrote on the back of the collection of poems "Floating in Beijing": "From Wang Changzheng's poems, I read his nostalgia and kindness rooted in his heart, and the bones and blood of his poems, his liver and gallbladder With the soul, I read about a passionate poet who is confident, calm, unrestrained and heroic."

Wang Changzheng published his first prose when he was 10 years old and has been writing until now. When he was in high school, he published a large number of poems, essays, and novels in provincial and municipal newspapers and periodicals. When he was a sophomore in college, he published his first collection of poems, "Heart to the Future." During his four years in Beijing, he successively published four personal monographs, among which "Drifting in Beijing" is a representative collection of poems. It was named one of the "Top Ten Poetry Collections in the Country in 2017" by the Chinese Poetry Spring Festival Gala.

In just a few years, Wang Changzheng has won many literary awards: "100 Gardens" magazine "2015 Outstanding Work Nomination Award", "Running" magazine "Youth Poet Laureate Award" "2nd Chinese Long Poetry Award" Award", "The First Yang Wanli Excellent Poetry Award" and "The First Yangguan Poetry Award"; it is worth mentioning that 17 poets won the second China "Long Poetry Award", including the famous poets Bei Dao and Ouyang Jianghe , Hong Zhu. There were 671 poets participating in the "First Yangguan Poetry Award" with 4,022 poems. Only three poets have won this honor, and Wang Changzheng is one of them. The difficulty of winning these two awards can be seen from the difficulty. This also shows from one aspect that Wang Changzheng's poetry has become successful and has been recognized by many readers and experts.

I have every reason to believe that Wang Changzheng will definitely become a leading figure in China's post-90s poetry circle in the near future, because he is young, because he is talented, and because he has "social responsibility" "Cultural Responsibility"...
