Huaishang District, located on the north bank of Huaihe River, is a new district approved by Bengbu Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government in March 2004 in order to get through the urban development framework and implement the development strategy along the Yangtze River. After two adjustments, the new district now governs five towns, 1 street, with a total population of 286,000 and an area of 4 12 square kilometers, making it the largest administrative district in the city.

It borders Daxin Town of Wuhe County and Beilin Hui Autonomous County in the east; It is adjacent to Wangzhuang Town and Xinmaqiao Town of Guzhen County in the north; It is connected with wei zhuang zhen and Wucha Town of Huaiyuan County in the west.
