What if there is fog in car headlights?

Today, Bian Xiao will introduce you to the solution of fogging of automobile headlights.

1. First of all, you should know that no matter what type of headlights, there will be a breathable rubber tube on the back cover. The function of this ventilation hose is to discharge the heat generated when the headlights are turned on, and at the same time, it can maintain the normal working temperature of the headlights. As we all know, headlights will generate a lot of heat from lighting to use. However, it is the same exhaust pipe that brings the water in the air into the headlights and attaches it to the lampshade through the headlights. With the accumulation of water vapor, water droplets form and then flow down the lampshade. Generally speaking, this happens when the temperature difference is large, usually in winter and rainy season.

When the headlights are foggy, don't worry. The best way at this time is to turn on the headlights. Under normal circumstances, after the headlights are turned on for a period of time, the fog will be discharged from the headlights through the ventilation pipe with hot air, and the headlights and circuits will not be damaged. However, if we have a high-pressure air gun, we can also use the high-pressure air gun to blow in the engine compartment where water is easy to accumulate, which can accelerate the airflow and take away the water in the car.

3. If there is a lot of water on your headlights, it is basically a problem of headlight sealing. The solution to the problem of headlamp sealing is to disassemble the headlamp assembly, and then carefully check whether there is any damage inside. After confirming that there is no damage, we can peel off the lampshade and components, dry the lampshade and components separately, and then reseal them. If the lampshade is damaged, it can only be replaced.

If the fog is caused by normal physical phenomena, as long as the headlights are turned on every day, the fog will dissipate after almost a week. If the fog is caused by water, first open the car lampshade to dry. After defogging, find the leaking place, that is, the place with poor sealing, and then reseal it. If the seal is not good, the headlights will still be flooded and foggy when driving next time.
