When is the best time to grow peppers? How to plant pepper seeds?
1. When is the best time to grow peppers?
Pepper can be planted all year round, and the best growing period of pepper planting is spring planting. If you want to plant pepper well, you must master the sowing date, because if you sow it too early, the pepper seedlings will age easily, which will lead to the imbalance between reproductive growth and nutritional growth, and the yield will drop obviously.
The spring sowing period of pepper is1from late October to early February, the planting period is from mid-March to early April, and the harvesting period is from May to July. The sowing date of autumn sowing is in early August, the sowing date is in September, and the harvesting date is in 10 ~ 12. In these two seasons, pepper can avoid high temperature and cold weather, and can grow and develop normally under open-air cultivation conditions. It takes 25 ~ 40 days for seedlings to be planted in high temperature season, and 35 ~ 50 days for seedlings to be planted in low temperature season.
Second, how to plant pepper seeds?
1, seed treatment
Pepper is generally bred from the vernal equinox to Qingming, and the seeds are treated before breeding. It can be soaked in 0.5% trisodium phosphate or 300-400 times of potassium permanganate or 1% thiourea for 20-30 minutes to kill the germs carried on the seeds. After washing the liquid medicine on the seeds repeatedly, it can be soaked in warm water of 25-30 degrees for 8- 12 hours. Or you can put the seeds in the sun for 2 days to promote the after-ripening of the seeds, thus improving the germination rate of pepper and killing the germs carried on the surface of the seeds.
2. Seedling raising and sowing
After the pepper seedbed is completed, it should be watered from the soles of the feet, then sprayed with 3000 times of Heng Lv 1 for disinfection, then sprinkled with a thin layer of fine soil, evenly spread the seeds on the seedbed, then covered with a layer of fine soil with a thickness of 0.5 ~ 1 cm, and finally covered with a shed for moisture and heat preservation.
3. Seedbed management
Generally speaking, after pepper is sown, the temperature is 25 ~ 34.7 degrees and the ground temperature is about 20 degrees for 6 ~ 7 days. When 70% of the seedlings arch the soil, it is necessary to spread 0.5 cm thick fine soil on the seedbed under the condition of no water on the leaves. Pepper seedbed should have sufficient water supply, but the soil should not be too wet. When the height of pepper reaches 5 cm, the seedbed should be ventilated and adjusted. Ventilation should be flexibly controlled according to seedling growth and weather temperature. Seedlings can be tempered in the open air 10 days before planting, and it should be noted that seedling tempering should be gradual.
To sum up, peppers can be planted all year round, but spring sowing is the best. Ok, that's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only, and I hope it will help everyone!
