A trip to Damaoshan

In the morning, the weather is fine and the temperature is suitable. We are all on vacation. We have an appointment to climb the mountain in damao mountain, Tangxian County.

Time is pleasant, the mood is comfortable, the car is running happily on the expressway, the green hills on both sides are opposite, the sky is blue and the clouds are long, and the songs of our high school days are playing in the car. We are like flying birds and free. When I came out, I found everything was so beautiful!

At about nine o'clock in the morning, we arrived at our destination-the virgin forest in damao mountain, Tangxian County.

Our car is halfway up the mountain. It's cool and breezy. We didn't notice when the sun was hidden. In the semi-cloudy weather, we suddenly felt a little less dressed and a little cold. I didn't expect the weather in the mountains to be so cold. An old man from Hu Yi Temple appeared beside him and asked how far it was from here to the top of the mountain. The old man showed us the way enthusiastically and said that the highest peak of this mountain is about twenty miles.

The weather is suitable for mountain climbing, so we will follow the route indicated by the old man. In ancient times, Mount Damao was Mount Hengshan, also known as Fairy Mountain, with an altitude of 1, 898 meters. It is famous for its bravery, adventure, miracle and beauty. It is the birthplace of Tongtian River. Damao mountain National Forest Park is characterized by primitiveness and naturalness, with obvious vertical distribution of vegetation, rich plant species, peculiar mountain landforms and natural and diverse water landscapes. It is a mountain forest park integrating landform, vegetation, waterscape and astronomical phenomena.

Our climbing route is a mountain road trodden by the mountain people. I think of Lu Xun's famous saying: if people walk more, they will naturally become the road. One side of the path is the valley, and the other side is the virgin forest. There are very few climbers, only us along the way, and everything in front of us shows the primitive here. The four of us laughed and enjoyed the beautiful scenery here, breathing plenty of fresh oxygen, and climbed for about four hours. A temple appeared in front of us. Someone was cleaning the mountain road. There were tools for working beside the small temple, but no one was there. We guessed it might be lunch, so we continued to visit. There is a sign of Dongfeng Forest Farm, and we look up at other buildings. Curiosity drove us forward, and a flat clearing appeared. The answer is dried noodles. We can see that their lunch is very simple and it is difficult to drink water. The water for cooking comes from the back at least five kilometers below the mountain. I found a simple pool made of plastic sheets next to a simple stone house. It turns out that this is the rain they collected on rainy days and used to wash dishes and wash things.

Damao Mountain is the Hengshan Mountain in the north in history. Since the Western Zhou Dynasty, damao mountain has been positioned as the main peak of Mount Hengshan in the north of the mountain, and Xuan Di, the Emperor Gaozu, issued an imperial edict to list damao mountain as one of the five mountains. In the following thousands of years, it has always been a place for emperors to sacrifice. It was not until 1660 (the seventeenth year of Qing Shunzhi) that Tianfengling in Hunyuan, Shanxi Province was moved to Hengshan by Beiyue. Damaoshan was once a holy place for Taoism and Buddhism.

It turned out that the place where we arrived was the highest peak of Damao Mountain, where the emperor used to sacrifice. There were four people here maintaining the original temple here.
