Beijing is located in the North China Plain, with the Taihang Mountains to its west. To the north and northeast is Dujun Mountain, which belongs to the Yanshan Mountains. 1. Beijing-West Ancient Trail

Beijing-West Ancient Trail, a hiking route around Beijing, is favored by outdoor enthusiasts. This route is not difficult and is suitable for leisure hiking on weekends. It has beautiful scenery and rich ancient charm.

The West Beijing Ancient Road refers to the ancient traffic roads in the mountainous areas west of Beijing, collectively referred to as Xishan. It has a long human history, special geographical location and rich resources.

Throughout history, millions of people in Beijing were paid by the Carboniferous.

It takes Xishan Avenue as the main line and connects multiple branch lines to form a road system.

The spectacular Beijing-West Ancient Road meets at Wangpingkou and is known as the "General Road over the Mountain". Wangping Ancient Road is the most beautiful and richest part of the ancient road in western Beijing.

There are many ruins on both sides of the Wangping Ancient Road, the most famous of which is Ma Zhiyuan’s former residence. Walking in it, one can feel the rich ancient charm that has lasted for thousands of years.

There are three main ancient commercial routes in the Xishan area of ??Beijing: Xishan Avenue, Yuhe Avenue and Xintan Ancient Road.

Among them, the Yuhe Ancient Road is one of the classic routes among the ancient roads in western Beijing.

Even in the cold winter, it attracts many hikers because of its several ice waterfalls.

One-day tour route: Wangping-Fengkou Temple-Quanmen. The total length of the line is about 14.2 kilometers and the altitude is 813 meters. The starting point of the route is Wangping Village, which will leave you full of praise!

Transportation: Take bus No. 929, get off at Wangpingcun Station, cross the road, and there is an intersection on the south side of the road. Walk forward about 100 meters and cross the bridge hole!

Outdoor Tips: The road leading to the cliff is very steep. You can choose to go back the same way, which is about 50 meters. You can go up the mountain and bypass the cliff.

Going to the top of the mountain is actually the saddle of the ridge. This is Fengkou Temple.

Pay attention to two points when going down the mountain:

First, when you reach the fire escape, there is an obvious path in the left corner of the fire escape, leading directly to the bottom of the mountain. Choose this path to go on.

Second: After passing the stairs, you can choose to move forward according to the traffic conditions of the day.

Bus route: starting point Wangpingcun: First-line subway Pingguoyuan Station, take bus No. 929 and get off at Wangpingcun Station.

Terminal Yuanmen: Take bus No. 370 from Yuanmen for the return trip and get off at Pingguoyuan Station on Metro Line 1.

Two. Miaofeng Mountain, Yangtai Mountain,: Ancient Journey

Many people, especially some bicycle enthusiasts, are very familiar with Miaofeng, and its scenery is very charming.

Route features: This crossing route comes from an ancient road. The Niangniang Temple in Miaofeng Mountain reached its peak in the past year, and those who burned incense and made wishes made a pilgrimage through the Yangtai Mountain Scenic Area.

During the Tongzhi period, huge sums of money were spent on paving stones and building roads, which became a golden stage for "one tael of silver and one stone". Today, various historical sites can still be found.

Route introduction: Starting from Bei'an River in Haidian District, passing through Bei'an He Village, heading west for 15 minutes to the railway near Jiufeng Garden Gate, and then up to Xishan Jinxian Temple, about 380 meters above sea level. There is Jinshan Spring next to it.

3. Arrow Button - Mutianyu: Look at the Great Wall behind the smoke.

Line Features: The Jiankou Great Wall passes through a dangerous pass, with dangerous buildings towering high on the winding and steep mountain col. The Great Wall was built of solid white rock, a bold trend.

Route introduction: Starting from Xizhazi Village, you can climb the Great Wall from several places along the obvious paths. There are roads at Jiuyan Tower, Beijie Street, and Zhenbei Tower.

Xiongxian County attracts many photographers who take pictures of the so-called "Little Potala Palace" and other historic old city walls and dangerous buildings along the road.

It was completed in two days, with moderate level and intensity, ending at Lingshan Mountain. There are many routes to choose from. The one from Baiyu to Lingshan has the most diverse scenery and moderate intensity.

Route features: Starting from a famous ancient folk village on Beijing West Road, passing through Huangcaoliang, the largest alpine meadow in Beijing, then passing the Seventh Floor of the Great Wall, and finally reaching Dongling Mountain, the highest peak in Beijing.

Route introduction: Before the railway was opened to traffic, transportation between Beijing and Zhangjiakou and other northwest regions mainly took the Beijing-West Ancient Road and Guangou. Nowadays, although the ancient road has declined, the military passes and ancient villages of the Ming and Qing Dynasties left along the route still tell touching stories.

The most important route on the West Beijing Ancient Road is from Machuoyu in Huailai, Hebei Province, through Liujiayu Valley to Yanhe City. After passing through Tianjin Pass, enter Baiyu Valley, enter Zhaitang, and arrive in the west of Beijing.

This intersection starts from the ancient Mingzhu Baiyu Road.

Outdoor Tips: The climate in Lingshan area is unpredictable in summer, the mountains are shrouded in clouds and mist, and the frost-free period is short. The four-season climate changes are quite different from those in Beijing, showing a unique climate with short spring and autumn and long winter and summer. The daily temperature differs from Beijing by 10-12 degrees Celsius. Cumulative ascent: 1740 meters, cumulative descent: 2615 meters, minimum altitude: 435 meters, maximum altitude: 2306 meters.

There is plenty of time for the two-day crossing, but if one day is tight, the difficulty is average. However, the climate in mountainous areas changes a lot and the temperature in mountainous areas is low, so you need to protect yourself from rain and cold.

Although the altitude of Lingshan is not very high, it is still over 2,000, so if the new donkey is weak, please beware of altitude sickness.

The relative height difference here is large, and the vertical distribution of vegetation is extremely obvious. Because of the good soil and water conservation, despite the recent drought in Beijing, the forests here are still lush, the climate is humid, and the scenery of steaming clouds is the reward of Wuling Mountain.

Route introduction: The crossing route starts from the south gate of Hebei Xinglong Park. Starting from here, there is a road with good road conditions, passing through the Immortal Tower, a natural stone tower more than 40 meters high, passing through the four major scenic spots of Wuling Mountain, and reaching the peak of 2118 meters above sea level.

Transportation: Take Jingmi Bus or minibus from Dongzhimen to Miyun County. The fare is 10 yuan. The journey takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes, then take a minibus from Miyun to Caojia Road or Dagou Village. The price is around 10 yuan.

Outdoor Tips: Wuling Mountain will be closed before April due to fire prevention, so you must have a pass to enter. The application location is near Xinglong Railway Station.

There is a Wulingshan Village in Liushui, with dozens of villages and houses scattered among it. Visitors can take a break at the farmhouse here. "Hot porridge, fresh tofu curd, and hand-roasted mutton" can be called the three delicacies of Wuling.

There is no camping in the resort, and there is no need to refill water when driving up the mountain. There are water sellers on the mountain, but it's very expensive. Just follow the road signs to the attractions and don't worry about forks in the road.

Activities: Backpack, sleeping bag, moisture-proof mat, rain cover, hiking shoes, headlight, tent, stove, trekking poles, knee pads.

Food requirements: two days of staple food and various spoiled materials, 2 liters of water, and a stream along the road.

In Xiaowutai Mountain in winter, the snow is so deep that it can be up to your waist in some places. Some people climb in winter and become blind. The air is often filled with fog, and even locals often get lost. The thru-hiking route is generally strenuous and not suitable for ordinary tourists and beginner hikers.

Recommendation: Don’t go in winter, donkeys are weak, and sunny days are not continuous. Keep warm in summer, and bring a raincoat and a headlight on sunny days.

9. Dog Tooth Mountain at Blade's Edge Peak

The Mystery of the Black Dragon is a crossing route near Yunmeng Mountain in Huairou. It starts from the mansion and ends at the first waterfall of JD.COM. It has dense vegetation, many forked roads, and is quiet and long.

The most beautiful and dangerous place is called Sheshen Cliff. Straight up and down, with no way to go. Although I have never heard of an accident, it is probably because there are few people who know the route, so the possibility of an accident is low.
