Climate differences between Shaanxi and Jiangxi

Shaanxi spans three climatic zones, and the climate between north and south is quite different. Southern Shaanxi has a tropical climate in North Asia, Guanzhong and northern Shaanxi have a warm temperate climate, and northern Shaanxi has a temperate climate along the Great Wall. Its general characteristics are: warm and dry in spring, less precipitation, rapid and unstable temperature rise, windy and dusty weather; Summer is hot and rainy, with occasional summer drought; Autumn is cool and humid, and the temperature drops rapidly; Winter is cold and dry, with low temperature and scarce rain and snow. The annual average temperature of the whole province 13.7℃ decreases from south to north and from east to west: 7℃- 12℃ in northern Shaanxi, 0/2℃-14℃ in Guanzhong, and 0/4℃ in southern Shaanxi. 65438+ 10 monthly average temperature-1℃-3.5℃, July average temperature 2 1℃-28℃, frost-free period 160-250 days, extreme minimum temperature-32.7. The annual average precipitation is 340-1240mm. There is more precipitation in the south and less precipitation in the north. Southern Shaanxi is a humid area, Guanzhong is a semi-humid area and northern Shaanxi is a semi-arid area.

Three temperature zones

Shaanxi is long and narrow from north to south, with diverse terrain. The climate is very different, which can be clearly divided into three climatic zones, namely temperate zone, warm temperate zone and north subtropical zone.

Temperate Temperate Zone includes Wuqi and counties along the Great Wall north of Mizhi. Influenced by the denatured continental cold air mass from the polar regions, it has a long cold period, less rainfall, large sandstorm and obvious continental climate, which is a part of the climate in Inner Mongolia. The frost-free period is 140- 160 days, and the average annual precipitation is 350-500mm, which belongs to the temperate semi-arid area of Sichuan. Crops are harvested once a year, with cereals, millet and spring wheat as the main agricultural characteristics.

The warm temperate zone is bordered by Wuqi and Mizhi in the north and the main watershed in the Qinling Mountains in the south, including most of the northern Shaanxi Plateau, the whole Guanzhong Basin and the middle and high mountainous areas in the Qinling Mountains. With abundant sunshine, large temperature difference and severe spring drought, most of them belong to the climate zone of North China. Frost-free period 160-220 days, with an average annual precipitation of 500-800 mm, belonging to semi-arid and semi-humid areas in warm temperate zone. The natural vegetation in the north is dominated by forests and grasslands, and the deciduous broad-leaved forest is dominated in the south-central part. In most areas, two crops a year or three crops every two years.

The northern subtropical zone includes the southern foot of Qinling Mountains and the low hills in its southern area. The latitude is low, because of the blocking effect of Qinling Mountains on cold air, the temperature in winter is higher than that in the plain area of the same latitude in eastern China. It is warm in winter and hot in summer, with four distinct seasons, abundant rainfall and warm and humid climate, belonging to the climate zone of Central China. The frost-free period can reach 260 days, which is the longest growing period of crops in the province. The average annual precipitation is 750- 1300mm, which is easily affected by the humid southeast monsoon in summer, and it is warm and rainy, making it the best water source area in the province. Rice, wheat and rape are planted in low mountains and hills below 800 meters above sea level and in Sichuan basin and dam area, and harvested twice a year. Its geographical landscape and people's living habits have obvious southern characteristics.

Jiangxi has a subtropical monsoon climate with an annual rainfall of 800- 1600ml, mainly in spring and summer. The average temperature in summer is above 23 degrees, and May and June are rainy seasons. July and August were controlled by subtropical high, and it didn't rain at first, but it occasionally rained under the influence of typhoon. In September, the rain belt moved south, and it hardly rained. So it's still quite hot in July and August. Winter is mild and dry, with an average temperature of 0 to 8 degrees. The cold in the south is wet and cold, but it will not be wet all the time because of the northwest monsoon. The really humid weather is in spring, which is caused by warm air with water vapor. Autumn is the most comfortable, cool and dry.
