What are the climatic characteristics of Iceland?

Although Iceland has a high latitude, the south of Iceland belongs to a temperate maritime climate because the North Atlantic Warm Current mainly flows through it.

Affected by the warm current, the temperature is not low in winter, with an average of about 0℃, and the temperature of the whole island is between 7- 12℃ in summer.

Located near the center of low pressure in Iceland, the weather is changeable and windy. Cyclones have brought abundant precipitation to Iceland. The annual average precipitation in the southwest and west is between1000 ~ 2000mm, and less in the north and northeast, which is 400 ~ 600mm.
