What are the climate characteristics of Las Vegas?

Las Vegas is located on the edge of the Nevada Desert in the United States, surrounded by mountains of 1,000-3,000 meters. The climate in Las Vegas has four distinct seasons. Summer has a typical desert climate, and the temperature at noon is often as high as around 38°C, with the highest temperature reaching over 45°C. Evening temperatures are relatively cool. Thunderstorms are common and temperatures are above average. The climate in winter is generally mild and suitable, with the average daytime temperature around 15°C. Despite the occasional very hot weather, spring and summer are still the most pleasant seasons. Las Vegas is rarely hit by severe weather and has one of the lowest relative humidity levels of any major city in the country. It's surrounded by desert, as dry as Death Valley.
