Folk customs of new towns
The silkworm temple fair in Juehai Temple is also a traditional temple fair in Xincheng. As for the date of the event, the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China reached its peak. Silkworm reeling has been the main economic source of four new towns since ancient times. Farmers pray to God to give silkworm babies a bumper harvest year to eliminate diseases and disasters. Every year in Tomb-Sweeping Day, farmers from Xing Wu, Chongde, Yuhang and other neighboring new cities flock to Juehai Temple, an ancient temple, to attend the annual silk flower Temple Fair. Believe in Buddha and worship Buddha in front of the mountain, and sincerely pray for a bumper harvest. The girl's sister-in-law in the countryside dresses up with silkworm eggs in her arms, some in the shape of butterflies and some in the shape of beautiful flowers. They really have their own postures, and they compete with each other, attracting men, women and children inside and outside Juehai Temple to watch you roll me. Therefore, the more violent the tumbling, the better the harvest of silkworm flowers.
The Silkworm Flower Temple Fair also provides opportunities for young men and women who fall in love at first sight. There is a folk song about rolling silkworms in the new town: the weather is warm and sunny on Qingming Day, the scenery is crimson and green, the elder sister-in-law and sister-in-law both go to the streets, rouge and pollen are dressed up, red and green silkworms are worn on their heads, and the perfume smells fragrant. The temples in Juehai are really noisy. Men, women and children are like the ocean. My brother in the neighboring village has been waiting for a long time. When he saw A-mei crowded beside him, she secretly pinched her thigh, and the girl blushed, blushed. The Riyuehai Temple is crowded with people, and various wonderful performances such as acrobatics, magic, children's dramas and peep shows attract the audience. Numerous North-South theatrical troupes performed in Liu Wang Temple, Yongling East Temple, Yongling West Temple and Dongyue Temple for three consecutive days, which feasted many fans in Xincheng. After the temple fair, spring silkworms began in the four townships, and this custom ended on 1936. ? 1999 Tomb-Sweeping Day was interrupted for 63 years and the silkworm flower temple fair in Xincheng was resumed. Temple fairs hosted by Xinshi Business Travel Company are very colorful. The procession of the temple fair is composed of dragon dance team, silkworm king sedan chair and waist drum team, which passes through the main streets of the new town. At one time, four rural farmers flocked to the new town to see the grand occasion of the year of the flower and the flower disappear. The main roads in the town were crowded with people, with about 40 thousand tourists. ? In 2000, the second silkworm flower temple fair was held in Xincheng, Tomb-Sweeping Day, with the participation of organizations such as Guanzhong Town, Xiashe Town and shilin town, and the number of visitors was about100000. Located in the northern part of Hangjiahu Plain, the new urban area has fertile land and is an important commodity grain sericulture and aquatic product base. As early as the Ming Dynasty, there were indica rice, wheat, beans, Chinese cabbage, white glutinous rice, peaches, plums, Wuling, vegetable oil, red wine, soju, white wine, soy sauce, tea cakes and honey in the city. Since the Qing Dynasty, the traditional specialties have been Zhang Yipin mutton, tea cake, lobster sauce, sesame crisp sugar and preserved rice.
In the past hundred years, new citizens began to eat mutton. The production method of Xinshi sheep is very elegant. The raw materials were selected from one-year-old Hu sheep, which were stewed with dozens of seasonings such as soy sauce, clean oil, brown sugar and maltose all night. Its characteristics are fat but not greasy, crisp but not rotten. Among many shops, the brand "Zhang Yipin" is the loudest. Of course, if eating mutton alone is not enough, you can go to Yindu Hotel for a "all-sheep banquet". In addition to sheep, tea cakes and sprouts are also a major feature of Xincheng snacks.
Xin's tea cake is steamed with glutinous rice flour and embedded with a mass of minced meat in the middle. The tea cakes that have just come out of the pot are full of fragrance. Take a bite, it is oily and fragrant, and the taste is long. Much better than ham jiaozi.
Jiaozi is a traditional snack for farmers in four townships and eight villages in Xincheng. Most of them are homemade for farmers to eat, and some are specially made as gifts for relatives and friends. The main raw materials of germinated wheat balls are glutinous rice flour, wheat malt, cotton grass, sugar, sesame and so on, which are pure green foods. It tastes sweet and soft, especially cold food.
In addition, the fine sand sheep tail, lobster sauce, dried noodles and crisp sugar in Xincheng are all local specialties with a history of hundreds of years.
Recently, the Party Committee and Government of Xincheng even organized the "Mutton Yellow Wine Festival" in Wu Shan Square, Hangzhou, so that the fragrance of mutton yellow wine drifted into thousands of households in Hangzhou with the "Wu Shan Tianfeng".
