According to the news of Mianning County Government Information Office, from June 26th 18: 00 to June 27th 1: 00, heavy rain fell in the northern part of Mianning County within 7 hours, causing disasters in many areas. Affected by this, as of 23: 30 on the 27th, some areas of Laiwen Street and Yihai Town in Mianning County were seriously affected, resulting in three deaths and 12 missing. At present, the local government is making every effort to carry out search and rescue work.
After the disaster, Mianning County launched an emergency response to mountain torrents and set up an emergency rescue headquarters. There are six working groups under the headquarters, which are specifically responsible for the rescue and relief work in lingshan scenic spot, Yihai Town, Levin Street and the collapsed sections of National Highway 248.
After full rescue, the scenic spot successfully rescued 53 trapped tourists, many staff members and more than 70 local people. Yihai Town transferred more than 4 100 people and rescued nearly 70 people. More than 700 families and more than 3,400 people were driven from the streets of Levin.
According to the latest statistics of the Emergency Management Department, since June, the floods in southern China have caused the deaths and disappearances of 10,000 people in Guangxi, Guizhou, Hunan, Sichuan and Jiangxi provinces 13 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities)121600,000 people, and 730,000 people have been resettled urgently.
