Is Nanjing a city polluted by smog? Thank you. What caused it?

Hello!

Nanjing is also seriously polluted ~

According to AQI Daily of Jiangsu Provincial Environmental Protection Department, the air in Nanjing has been moderately polluted for 9 consecutive days from 1.5.

Reason:

In fact, it is not a new phenomenon this year that the haze weather continues and the air quality declines. In recent years, every autumn and winter, especially after winter, the central and eastern regions of China will encounter such a situation from time to time, both for meteorological reasons and for pollution discharge.

Ma Xuekuan, chief forecaster of the Central Meteorological Observatory, said that the recent fog in the central and eastern regions is called radiation fog in meteorology, and there are three main reasons for its formation: First, the relative humidity of the air near the ground in these areas is relatively high; Second, there is no obvious cold air activity, the wind is small, and the atmosphere is relatively stable; Third, the sky is clear and partly cloudy, which is conducive to radiation cooling at night and makes the near-surface air with relatively high humidity saturate and condense to form fog.

Large-scale haze weather mainly appears in the situation of large-scale atmospheric circulation with weak cold air and good water vapor conditions, and the low altitude near the ground is still wind or breeze. Controlled by the static weather near the ground, the air mobility in the horizontal and vertical directions is very small, and the atmospheric diffusion conditions are very poor. Under its control, regardless of the size of the city, the pollutant emissions of energy consumption required by local transportation, life and production are accumulating at low altitude. At the same time, due to the high humidity and high water vapor content in the haze weather, the droplets provide adsorption and reaction sites, which accelerates the transformation of reactive gaseous pollutants into liquid particulate components, and particulate matter also easily acts as condensation nuclei to accelerate the formation of haze, and the interaction between them quickly forms pollution.
