What are the interesting places in Zhuhai?

Shijingshan is actually a place frequented by many Zhuhai people, and Jingshan Park is at the foot of the mountain (it seems to be rebuilt recently). The mountain is not very high, and it is quite leisurely to climb. There is an observation deck at the top of the mountain overlooking fishermen, beaches and shellfish. When the weather is fine in summer, you can see the peaks opposite Hong Kong and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge across the Pearl River Estuary. The scenery is very good.

2. Jida Reservoir

Jida Reservoir is a good place to get close to nature in the center of Zhuhai. Walking along Jining Road, you can see the parking lot of Jida Reservoir not far away, and then go deeper, you can see the path leading to the reservoir area. These mountain roads were all opened up for early explorers. There are no artificial slates, no steel guardrails, only unadorned dirt roads, which preserve the most primitive state of nature.

Some places with dangerous terrain have been named by tourists themselves, and even some original road signs point to these "attractions". It is hard to imagine that there is such an original ecological place in the center of Zhuhai. Stay here for a while, and the troubles of the outside world will soon be swept away.

Visiting Jida Reservoir can go around the mountain or along the shore, and each has its own fun. Walking around the mountain can give you a glimpse of the reservoir scenery on the mountain and feel the fun of hiking across the mountain. In places with dangerous terrain, sometimes it is very thrilling to need bold pathfinders to cross a wooden bridge made of several tree trunks. Walking along the shore, you can walk near the lake and sing, or you can take some fishing rods and find a place to sit around and fish for a day. It's also fun.

Jida Reservoir is rich in vegetation, with a variety of native plants in Zhuhai, and it is also a small botanical garden in downtown Zhuhai. The most common one is Myrtle on the roadside, with gorgeous flowers and small pieces of Pinus tabulaeformis growing on the shore, which is lush. Some ferns also grow very luxuriantly.

Happily, the rare insectivorous plant Nepenthes grows in Jida Reservoir. There is only one species of Nepenthes in China, which is scattered in the mountainous areas of Guangdong and Hainan. Previously, I only heard that there are a small number of peaks such as Phoenix Mountain, Huangyang Mountain and Sanzao Gaolan Hengqin. I didn't expect to find wild Nepenthes in Jida Reservoir in the center of Zhuhai.

Wild Nepenthes has wide leaves and a small green cage, which looks lovely. But it secretes honey to attract insects into cages, which is a veritable cold-blooded killer. Nepenthes are rare now. If you meet it, please don't disturb it, just let it grow quietly in its own habitat.

There are many places to explore in Phoenix Mountain in the north of Zhuhai, but unfortunately there are too few times to visit it, so I won't introduce it here.

3. Ka Lam Hill, Wan Chai

Jialinshan is a barren hill that is rarely developed. At the intersection of the mountains, one is near Wanchai Middle School and the other is in Shenxian Temple, Wanchai. Most of the whole journey is dirt roads, and a short section is a ladder, so the climbing process is relatively easy. There are often local wild flowers and fruits on the roadside, which is quite interesting. Jialinshan is also an excellent place overlooking Hengqin and Macau. There is a natural observation deck on the ridge with excellent scenery. Speaking of the Macau Fireworks Festival, I heard that many photographers will come to Jialinshan to shoot fireworks. It is worth noting that due to the fire at the end of 17, Phoenix Mountain and jialinshan were closed in winter and could not enter.

4. Hengqin Tanzhou Wetland Park

Tanzhou Wetland Park, located in the northwest corner of Hengqin County, is a newly-built wetland park in recent years. The wetland park has a good environment, and there are wooden plank roads in the park for sightseeing, which is more suitable for leisure walking. If you meet the right season, you can see waterfowl flying in groups. Wetland park is also a good scenic spot. There are three observation decks in the park, which can provide a panoramic view of the sharpening door. The newly completed Hengqin Second Bridge is also very beautiful.
