Yangquan City belongs to Shanxi Province.

Known as "Yangquan" in ancient times, it is the third largest city in Shanxi Province. It is located in the central and eastern part of Shanxi Province, bordering Xinzhou City in the north, facing Shijiazhuang City across Taihang Mountain in the east, Taiyuan City in the west and Jinzhong City in the south. Yangquan, with a total area of 4559 square kilometers, is located on the eastern edge of the Loess Plateau and belongs to the eastern mountainous area of Shanxi. The territory is dominated by mountains, and the rest are hills and plains. It belongs to the warm temperate and semi-humid continental monsoon climate zone.

In Dongfushan in the south of Pingding, it is said that Nu Wa built a furnace here to refine stones to make up the sky, so that the stones in Dongfushan were reddish brown as a whole, but they did not sink but floated when put into the water. The stove still exists today, and there is an inscription in Shen Lu's Fushan Kitchen in the Ming Dynasty.
