Tanzhe Temple was named Kafka Temple in Jin Dynasty, renamed Longquan Temple in Tang Dynasty, and Damanjuji Temple in Jin Dynasty. The old names of Longquan Temple and Kafka Temple were restored in Ming Dynasty, and Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty named them Yun Xiu Temple. Tanzhe Temple occupies an important position in Buddhism. From the Jin Dynasty, for a long time, it was the founder of Mahayana Buddhism and Lin Ji, and famous monks came forth in large numbers. In order to study Buddhism, promote Buddhism, expand and repair Tanzhe Temple, and prosper the incense of the temple, the eminent monks worked hard. Tanzhe Temple enjoys the reputation of the first temple in Kyoto because of its powerful political power, huge temple production, lofty position in Buddhism and its huge scale.
After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), the people's government turned Tanzhe Temple into a forest ruins park and became a tourist attraction. /kloc-0 was listed as the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in Beijing on October 28th. 1957, Tanzhe Temple was renovated on a large scale for two years with funds from the Beijing Municipal Government.

Tanzhe Temple is the oldest temple in Beijing, 800 years earlier than Beijing. Tanzhe Temple was founded in the Western Jin Dynasty (265-3 16) and is called Kafka Temple. Tanzhe Temple covers an area of 6.8 hectares. The temple faces south. The main buildings can be divided into three roads: Middle Road, East Road and West Road. The main buildings in the middle road are the mountain gate, the Heavenly King Hall, the Ursa Major Hall, the Zhaitang Hall and the Pilu Pavilion. East Road has Abbot Court, Yanqing Pavilion, Palace Court, Wanshou Palace and Taihou Palace. There are Leng Yan altar (no longer exists), Jietai Temple and Guanyin Hall on the west road, which are solemn and solemn. In addition, there are the Amusement Hall and the Upper and Lower Towers on the hillside outside the mountain gate, and the Shao Shi Quiet Room, Xiexin Pavilion, Longtan and Yubei built in the back hill. Outside the mountain gate is a 4-column wooden archway on the third floor. There are two kinds of Gu Song plants in front of the memorial archway, with dense branches and leaves, like a green ceiling. There are a pair of stone lions in front of the archway, which are magnificent and magnificent. Passing the archway is a single-hole stone arch bridge, named Huaiyuan Bridge, and crossing the bridge is the mountain gate.
There is a Maitreya Buddha statue in Tianwang Temple, with a Wei Tuo statue on the back and four statues of the heavenly king about 3 meters high on both sides. On both sides of the King's Hall are the Bell and Drum Tower, followed by the Hall of Ursa Major. The main hall is five rooms wide, with double eaves and a yellow glazed tile roof with green edges. The forehead of the upper eaves is quiet and solemn, and the forehead of the lower eaves is Fuhai Zhulun. There is a huge green glass kiss at each end of the main ridge, which is a relic of the Yuan Dynasty and is tied with a glittering gold-plated long chain. There is a huge Buddha statue in the center of the hall, which is solemn and backlit. There are Dapeng golden-winged bird, dragon lady, lion, elephant, sheep and flame patterns on the background light. There are about two Buddha statues, Ananda and Gaya are relics of the Qing Dynasty. Behind the Hall of Great Heroes is the Zhaitang Courtyard, where monks eat. There are three temples behind the main hall, but they have all been demolished. There are only two Miluo trees and two Ginkgo trees left, which are tall. At the end of the central axis is a pavilion-like building called Piluge, which is two stories high and has a wooden structure. Standing on the Pilu Pavilion, you can have a panoramic view of temples and distant mountains.
Sidong Road consists of quadrangle-style buildings, including the Abbot, Yanqing Pavilion and the Qing Dynasty Palace. The main buildings are Wanshou Palace and Taihou Palace. The courtyard is quiet and elegant, with green tiles and bamboo columns, clear water and bamboo pruning, which has the artistic conception of Jiangnan garden. There is a Liu Beiting in the yard, named Yi Xuan Pavilion.
Temple West Road is mostly a temple-style temple. The main buildings are Tan Jie, Guanyin Hall and Wanglongdian, which are stacked on top of each other and magnificent. The annular altar is a place where monks are ordained. There is a statue of Sakyamuni on the stage, with three chairs in front of it and a bench on each side, which is the place where the three divisions and seven certificates sit. At both ends of the main ridge of the Daxiong Hall of Tanzhe Temple, there is a huge green glass kiss, which is a relic of the Yuan Dynasty and is tied with a glittering gold-plated long chain. The kiss appeared as an object of a town. Legend has it that one of the nine sons of the dragon was born, belonging to fire and water, so he put it on the roof to avoid fire. It is said that when Emperor Kangxi came to Tanzhe Temple for the first time, when he saw the kiss dancing, he probably flew away unexpectedly. So he ordered people to build a gold chain to lock it and insert a sword. The gold-plated sword light kiss belt on today's kiss was given by Kangxi.
There is a square flowing cup pavilion named Yi Xuan Pavilion on Sidong Road. The huge white marble foundation in the pavilion is carved with winding dragon-shaped waterways. When the spring water flows, put it in a glass with ears, let it float and rotate with the current, stop somewhere, drink it, and write poems by drinking it. This is a famous Qushui custom in ancient China.
There are two treasures in Tanzhe Temple: Guobao and Shi Yu.
Treasure pot: There is a copper pot in front of Tianwang Temple, with a diameter of 1.85 m and a depth of 1. 1 m, for monks to cook. This pot is located in the north room and west room of East Cross Hospital. Now there are bigger pots, 4 meters in diameter and 2 meters deep. It can put 10 stone in porridge once, and it takes 16 hours to cook once. Because the bottom of the pot is thick and simmered slowly, the porridge is sticky and fragrant. Regarding these two pots, there is also a saying that splashing sand does not leak rice. It turns out that there is a container for sand at the bottom of the pot. With the constant stirring when cooking porridge, the sand will sink into the depression at the bottom of the pot.
Stone Fish: There is a Dragon King Hall on the west side of Guanyin Hall in Tanzhe Temple. There is a stone fish on the front porch of the hall. Length1.7m, weight150kg. It looks like copper, but it is actually a stone. It is said that it is a treasure of the Dragon Palace in the South China Sea and was given to the Jade Emperor by the Dragon King. Later, during the drought, the Jade Emperor gave it to Tanzhe Temple to eliminate the disaster. One night when it was raining heavily, the stone fish fell from the sky and fell into the yard. It is said that the 13 part of Shiyu stands for 13 province. If there is a drought in any province, it can be rained by tapping parts of the province.
